Kelly keeps them focused and humble. Manti leads. This team won't slip up.

Brian Kelly is 7-1 in November at Notre Dame. This is when the training tables and strength program start to pull away from lesser teams.

I expect that figure to be 8-1.

Notre Dame 35-10.

Pitt could lose some practice time with Hurricane Sandy. It's projected to be in middle PA on Tuesday around 6 pm. Unless the track moves further north in the ocean before heading west Pittsburgh is going to be impacted by heavy rainfall for perhaps 2-3 days. They could go indoors depending on safety and drainage issues.

The 10/27/12 Sagarin Rankings are up.

USA TODAY

According to his Predictor Model ND should be about a 29.5 favorite over the Panthers in South Bend.

This should be a pretty good game. Pitt has won a few games this year and its always a fight. I love how Golson is progressing though and look out for Brown and Neal in the next few weeks. Will be a great opportunity to get them some more touches so they can gain experience! Love this team!

Because Nearly Every College Sports Team Has a Home Bar in Manhattan - Reasons to Love New York 2009 -- New York Magazine
Supposedly it is a bar dedicated to Notre Dame, New York has a bar dedicated to most of the teams in CFB, this is ND's.

i was there last night. it was awesome. got there about hour and half early and got a seat at the bar. there are NO TABLES available on game day. they begin taking reservations on monday of game week and they fill up fast. great specials:
$35 open bar, liquor included (no top shelf), and bud bud light and miller lite and unlimited wings (which were surprisingly meaty and good).
$30 domestic beer open bar
and also $2 off all appys. starts 30 minute prior to game time. the filet mignon sliders are expensive $23 but so worth it!

the place was packed!! all screens were on the ND game. played sound for game and music during commercials. place was live and crowd was awesome.

i recommend this place. it was a blast!

They have the worse rushing defense we have seen in a couple weeks i would think we should another 200 plus rushing game.

I agree. If we can run for 200+ on BYU and Oklahoma, there's no reason to believe we can't run for similar yardage on Pitt.

Can we import those specials to O'Rourkes? Awful, awful, awful drink specials there.

At first, I was a bit worried about this Pitt game. Sometimes you worry about a team after a big victory, maybe getting full of themselves or feeling too confident, and not going to work the way they should. This team won't have that problem. They won a huge game, and now they want more. I think they work even harder, and this team becomes an unstoppable, well-oiled, 11-0 machine come USC.

I will say though, Pitt has gotten their act together a bit since what may possibly be the worst two opening games in CFB history. They have 4 losses, but Sunseri is playing efficient, mistake-free football at QB right now. They will have opportunities to make some plays in the passing game. Before, I would have said that would be enough for Pitt to make this too close for comfort. Now, after OU, I have much more confidence in the bend-but-don't-break methods. As long as the secondary continues to tackle well, Pitt stands no chance.

If Irish stay focused, we should win. Pitt has the abililty to beat us. I hope we continue to take of business, one game at a time. This will be my last trip to SB this year...the year of the Irish Resurrection.

Ok. I want to talk football.... If we lose this game, how did it happen? I know nothing about Pitt.

Turnovers.

Pittsburgh has a backfield that 90% of the teams in the country would love to have. They have a very experienced QB and some tall possession receivers.

Simply saying, a lack of talent isn't their problem. It's execution.

The Irish DL should abuse the Pittsburgh OL though.

Aaron Donald (their DT) could pose problems for our OL. He hasn't played as well this season, but he is a real stud.

As some guys have said they do well rushing with Shell and Graham. Their QB Tino Sunseri, son of Sal Sunseri (DC at Tenn, formerly ST coord at Alabama), has improved alot for them (partially because of an improve OL). Their OL isnt as bad as points last year, but it is better.

We should match up well with them though.

This would be the game to let up on historically... But they have to run the ball to be successful... Just can't see it

Currently 29th in total defense. Have played an absolutely garbage schedule to this point, though.

The only AQ team ranked in the Top 50 in rushing offense (Cincinatti) that Pittsburgh has played ran for 8.3 yards a pop en route to a 266 yard performance on the ground.

Lotso carries for Thierre.

Let me preface this with this: our boys seem to get exponentially better every single week, and I'm not trying to be too much of a Debbie Downer (actually sitting on my couch enjoying last nights game.....again).

We need to learn how to dominate on both sides of the ball in our house, regardless of opponent.

Average score away from ND Stadium- ND 35.25. Opponent. 7.25

In the Stadium: ND. 17.5. Opponent 12.5

I think we boat race the next 3 teams as well, however, this team just has a certain swag and attitude away from home. We need to bring that same game into Rockne's House, week in, week out.

Maybe you have a different definition of "boat race" than I do, but that's normally synonymous with "shoot out".

In our next three games, we'll face the following rush defenses: Pitt (atrocious), BC (average), and WF (bad). Offensively, Pitt is average, BC is bad, and WF is atrocious. None of those team can hang with us on either side of the ball.

I expect 3 Miami-esque performance. Hopefully Kelly runs up the score, because we need voters to take notice.

Apparently we do. I meant I expect blowouts. I also expected to see us blowout the same 3 teams last year, and while I will not spend my time researching 2011 defensive stats, I would expect there was much similar sentiment in those games.

Coming off this emotional high to play a physical Pitt team, a rivalry game on the road against a team we beat by 2 last year, and the emotion of Manti's last home game. We know what SHOULD happen. This team needs to keep their focus and make sure it WILL happen. I'm confident they will.

The main thing I'm looking for is continued growth with Golson. Let's have the Irish play well, establish line dominance early and allow Kelly and the staff to develop depth.

Man, I know that's asking for a lot-but hey, that's what I'm looking for.
