Kelly may not want to place the seed of failure in their minds.

Possible. Kelly definitely knows the history, he brought it up in his interview with Pat Forde after the Clemson game.

If they’re truly treating this like “any other game” that’s a mistake. Need to be going OVERBOARD on external motivators for this week. This is BC’s Super Bowl.

Absolutely. Aside from Pitt, I can't think of another team that enjoys spoiling an Irish season. They know they can't ever make a January bowl, so this is their big bowl.

I just think that going against Phil adds an edge to this game that will keep the Irish focused and determined to win big.

Kelly's 6-0 vs BC which tells me he has some concept of how to prepare for them.

Its their super bowl. BFD. In the real super bowl you have to play your way in rather than just want to.

Thats correct.

Daily testing for regular students just captured 22(!!!) new positives, which isn’t good. We will likely have an idea by Thursday about whether there is any significant exposure on the team.

Isn't that down quite a bit from last week? Last week they had a 3-day stretch from November 3-5 of 39, 72 and 40

Yes, but final results from surveillance testing is usually 1-2 days slow. So the 22 number will almost assuredly rise as testing results come in.

I hope the D puts on the pressure to the point Phil's sphincter tightens up more than a snare drum.

Would rather have Mike Golic doing color commentary again, but I'm fine with that lineup. At least it's not on NBC with Flutie.

Yep. But not lil' Golic. Love big Golic. Lil' Golic did the MAC game last night. Love him because he's from ND, but he needs to tone it down a bit. Drove me nuts...

Reminds me of Romo. When Tony retired to the booth he came across a little...over zealous to me, was kind of annoying. I think he's toned it down a bit.

Tony seemed like a quiet blue hair vs lil' Golic lol. I had to turn down the volume last night. I think he's having a hard time changing modes from the radio show, where he has to simply fill space with jibber jabber. A little more football talk, less cute and witty.

I bet Flutie is still there in attendance. What else does he have to do?

I absolutely hate listening to Flutie, but I think I'd rather listen to him than lil' Golic for a whole game. I don't hate him, just wish he'd tone it down 90%. I'm sure he'll learn.

I can agree with this. And to be fair to Flutie, he’s improved since year 1 but that doesn’t mean I still didn’t want him replaced...I wholeheartedly wanted him replaced. It’s not even about ND...it’s more about his ability as an analyst. ND deserves an upgrade just like we got w/ Tirico replacing Bea Arthur.

You’re right about Golic. He tries way too hard. You summed it up best w/ the talk radio vs broadcast tv comparison. I predict he becomes a bigger voice at ESPN. I also predict that I will be less of a fan.

I was actually surprised ESPN gave him a show when the axed his dad. I'm guessing he was cheap. Even when he was the 3rd wheel on Golic and Wingo, he was still annoying at times, just kept in check by the other two. I just have a hard time seeing him getting any bigger, unless he mellows. He's just not that likeable IMO. I want to be a fan though lol.

Give me old man Golic any day.
