Oh well, fun season. I didn't expect playoffs this year.

Damn Damn.....Damn.

What a horrible break. Hits BOTH pipes and doesn't go in. Smh...hate to see it end like that. Gut wrenching.

I think the Hawks just desperately needed the break. They've been on short offseasons the last 3 years. That's gotta take it out of them. Like the determination and refusal to quit. Just hate how it ended.

Good news, the White Sox look like they're gonna make this summer without hockey and basketball a tolerable one.

Hats off to the Blues. Huge breakthrough for their franchise, and they earned all of it. Hope this series wasn't a physical/mental body clock, and they can keep pushing towards the SCF. With that said, I also hope Balki is right, and the Sox can keep things interesting until at least July.

i honestly expected blues to be the blues and find a way to blow it. almost did with the double post shot.

I am just glad i dont have to hear all the blackhawks fans this weekend when i go hang out with my wives friend's.

Sooooo the NHL lost like 85% of their viewership last night, right?

It seems there is some diversity in this thread, but every single person on my social media feeds is magically a Blackhawks fan after the past few years.

I hate every single team that's left in the East so I just hope the West wins it. The Lightning would probably be the only team that wouldn't make me puke from the East.

I'd love to see Pens in 5 but I think it's more like Pens in 7

I think the Pens roll because:
1. Playing amazing hockey, almost surely the most impressive team over the end of the season and beginning of playoffs.
2. The end of the Flyers series reminded me of Caps teams of old... dominating play, scoring zero goals, finding ways to lose.
3. Penguins are too good on offense for the Caps defense to hold them down like they did Philly, so they're going to need to score in bunches, and they only do that when given power plays (which won't happen this series and the Penguins have a very strong penalty kill).

I think Caps need to hold both games on home ice at the start of this series to have a real chance.

Yep, in my view the bolded is always the most you can ask from your squad. I saw this headline today and I squirmed a little:

No gray area: Blackhawks season must be stamped a failure - Chicago Tribune

Failure, really? The Hawks faced a really tough opponent, took them to seven games in a hard-fought series after falling behind 3-1, lost game 7 by one goal.

Nobody wins every year. Maximum effort and competing at the highest level is the most you can expect; some years you just don't get the lucky bounce you need. Not fair to hold that against the team, after they've won 3 cups in 6 years. A team exec can be a prick like that, if he wants, but a fan should not, imo.

No doubt they came down harsh because they had warned him earlier in the series after his cheap shot to Kuznetsov's knee. I'd add a comment about the hilarity of the Flyers' antics being so bad that they're carrying into next season but I think I threw enough jabs during the series.

Oshie is a douche. Worth it.

No big surprise here. Game 7 was a do or die situation for him.
