Notre Dame owns Rhode Island in recruiting!

But really, I love the recruits brey has been getting lately.

I have a very good feeling this year will be our year. Elite 8 Im thinking. Hopefully more.

Yup.

Notre Dame
Florida State
UCONN
Miami
Georgetown
Pitt

I do have my concerns with a 6'5" PF but idk maybe this kid is the next Dejuan Blair.

6'5?? Is he really athletic though? I think from watching last season it seemed they could use more athleticism out on the court

I watched his AAU film. He moves pretty well for being a power forward. IMO has above average ball handling and does a good job driving to the rim when he has the ball outside the paint. I can't think of any good comparisons though. I can't think of anyone quite like him that has played at Notre Dame

Eric
Jerian
Cam (assuming improvement)
Zach
Garrick

Knight can sub in for either Zach or Garrick
Demetrius can come in for either Eric or Jerian
VJ can come in for Cam
Pat can come in for Cam
Jerian could also moved to 3, and let Demetrius at 2.

Our 3 spot is easily our most flexible position.
I thought Garrick exhausted his eligibility?

Brey is not going to bench two returning starters. And especially not Connaughton. He earned a starting spot before the midpoint of his freshman season.

Atkins
Grant
Connaughton
Knight
Sherman/Auguste

The Sherman/Auguste who doesn't start and Cam will be the first off the bench, then Jackson when Atkins needs a rest. Atkins played way too much last year anyway--the effect the fatigue had on his shooting and ball handling was really detrimental late in games.

On the surface, I think this team might have the same lack of leadership concerns that have affected the football team. Atkins being a vocal leader, Grant making much better decisions/playing better in general, and Auguste/Sherman being the necessary physical presence in the post left by Cooley I think will be the biggest concerns going into the season.

Agree and I would add to that who is going to be the consistent scorer, the guy you know will get you the bucket to stop a run or to win a close game? We don't have it and have not had it since Ben H.

My preferred lineup would be:

Atkins
Grant
Connaughton
Auguste
Sherman

with Cam, Jackson, Knight being the first three off the bench.

But I thought Brey was near sighted and can't see past the first two guys on the bench? How is that going to work?

I agree with the fatigue factor. Hopefully with the talent level up it is easier to sub (or harder to keep some of these guys off the floor).

I can only assume he'll be a SF then? Martin Geben is 6'9 and I imagine he's the PF fit for the class.

Devin Robinson to Colson.

As mentioned earlier, Robinson would be a HUGE pickup, but Crystal Ball has him 50-50 between Indiana and UConn, so it looks like an uphill battle.

Here are some highlights:

He has visited IU and UCONN more recently than ND...

There's a chance it could be a masking effect that causing him to like those two schools more at the moment.

Hopefully that'll change after some deep thinking.

He would be Brey's biggest pickup ever.

(Demetrius wouldn't be as big as a get in terms of, "stealing", considering he was a local player)

Meh.

Hoping they take a 5th year transfer instead. Need a big man.

This. Need the help NEXT YEAR. We have the makings of a very solid team returning, we're just missing a big man. Plus this Jackson is thin as a rail, a 2-star, and committed to Rice.

ND has had a few 2 star guys do well. I think they want his athletic ability rather than anything else. Wouldn't be too upset with him IF we also add a big man transfer in the offseason.

Putting up a monster year this year and is getting interest from bigger programs, hence the decommit. If Rivals redid their rankings I'm sure he would get an extra star. I wouldn't mind him to give us some big man depth but I really really would like a 5th year center.
