NC State’s defensive line isn’t as good as Georgia’s.


We are a very, very good team, and we haven’t even hit our potential yet. I excel to be #3 when the polls come out, no lower than 4.

Prepare to be disappointed. I think you're right on where we belong, but I think we'll be at 6.

Honest question - how do we compare against Alabama, Ohio State, etc.? We played an amazing Georgia team early in the season, got beat, but got better. I feel like we are a really good football team right now, but I don't know if we are a REALLY good football team. You've been watching the same games I have and it is obvious there are some concerns/holes. What's the forecast for the rest of the season?

Our defense gave up 7. that's fucking insane. OK wore down some grown ass men. their S/C is no joke at nc state.

We didn't bully them immediately, but we did over time.

IDK what the stats are but that was Wimbush's best passing game IMO. he stood in the pocket like a pro and didn't over use the run. I really hope he develops his touch on those long balls, and he needs to since we probably won't ever use the middle of the field. He's so close but he has been over throwing all year.

Love is literally elite in the short passing game. He gets beat deep but it hasn't cost us yet. he plays so well I'm the flats and in the hitches though. great pick up by the staff.

And those are small misses, he’s going to hit those at a higher rate. Settle the feet and we are going to roll. He’s going to be special. And not that tonight’s stats back that up, it’s clear its coming

Totally disagree. 2 of their DL got hurt. their front 7 isn't as Good as Georgia's, but their DL is and the draft will prove that to you. they were very physical.

We had more than double the rushing yards in the first quarter than we had against UGA all game. UGA is ranked higher as a rush defense and as a defense overall. I don’t see how NC St having more draftable players as a litmus test for who is better. The draft doesn’t put up stats or win games for their football team. We dominated their DL and got beat up by Georgia’s. It’s indefensible and if they had the top three picks in the draft it wouldn’t change those facts.


Past that, great win today buddy. Go Irish.

I don't think any team SHOULD be above is but I think Ohio State WILL be above us, plus some combination of Miami, Wisconsin, Clemson, or Oklahoma. Again, I'm not saying we SHOULD be any lower than 3, but haters gonna hate.

I guess I want to know if people think this team is championship good. The rest of the schedule will determine if we are top 4, but the talent gap in that group has been obvious during the playoff era.

You constantly confuse total defense with DL. Georgia defense is better. that doesn't mean their DL is, and it isn't IMO. and yes, the draft will prove that.

can you not fight about my opinion om their DL for one night and enjoy the win?

If Georgia has a better dl draft you can tell me you told me so. Thats cool.

I think Bama, Georgia, and Ohio State are probably better than us. Not that we can't beat them but think they have a better roster/coaching staff combo than us. I would feel confident about anyone else in the country.

OSU has only played two ranked teams and lost to one of them. Our SoS is also indefensibly better. I don’t see how we don’t jump them. But if for some reason we don’t, I definitely don’t see us at less than 4.

NFL draft doesn't mean shit. Better NFL prospects doesn't mean they're a better college unit.

I literally separated total defense from rush defense in my post. Your entire argument is based on where you think they will be drafted and you think my reasoning is short sighted?

I like that we faced adversity a few times today, the sailing has been so smooth that I was kind of worried how the team would respond to adversity. They answered big league to every challenge.

The ND of the past 10-15 years would have either A) melted after the blocked punt TD or B) let themselves get bogged down in a dog fight and the game would have gone down to the wire with frankly NC State probably winning. It was a turning point when in 2012 and 2015 the team would start winning those dog fights.

It's another leap and evolution that we don't even allow ourselves to get bogged down in a dog fight in the first place. We wear down our opponents and our superior conditioning and physicality (not sure I've ever been able to say that in my fanhood) wins out at the end of the day.

ND has now:
-won 6 in a row
-7 wins of 20+ (6 in a row, first time since at least 1966)
-3 wins of 33+
-not had an opponent score more than 20 in any game
-beat back to back top 15 opponents for the first time since 1989

I know the 2012 will always be special because they won every game and made it to the NCG, but this team is definitely better. This team is dominant and this is the first ND team to pass the eye test and really look like they belong in the conversation.

That isn't to say that we're going to go 13-1 and win the 'ship but ND has turned the corner. ND is completely legit and no one can question it.

I doubt the committee puts Miami/Wisconsin above the top 1 loss teams. they're smart enough to know they're not top 4, and their schedules are so soft going forward compared to the other teams that In the slim chance they do win out, they wouldn't risk letting that happen.

I think the committee sends a message that your SOS matters and I think you guys will be surprised about the ND love we're about to get.

I think we should be 3. I think we'll be 4 or 5. I highly doubt we're 6.

He had the same amount of time for Clemson and got housed. Maybe, just maybe, we have a staff in place that can do the same.

I hear you. they have more talent than us, but that doesn't automatically win you the game.
