Down in Indy visiting him yesterday or today. Anybody hear anything else about ND's pursuit of Evans?

I know he plays DB also, how good of a prospect is he at that position?

Wiltfong saying that he's a very wanted man at MSU and he's surprised he isn't receiving more attention. Thinks he can play RB, WR, or DB. His post in general made it seem like he thinks ND should offer. If they feel he can play DB, I'd be all for the offer. He's insanely fast and has some good length to him.

MSU has been on point with Evans. They beat half the MAC schools to him.

I'll have to go on record as saying I thought he'd have more top end than he does. He doesn't run away from defenders. I know the MIC has some players but a couple of them were closing. I'm pretty sure Noah Burks is one of them in the 3rd or 4th clip from his Ben Davis highlight film.

Personally not feeling it from the stats and the tape.

Now THAT'S impressive.

Got a 6'5" kid who will probably be doing similar numbers by the time he is a senior. Currently power cleans 285, I think...and he gets freakishly deep every time he cleans.

Indianapolis (Ind.) Ben Davis four-star running back Chris Evans typically leaves the field he played on as the best player and the same goes for this day.

Evans has speed, evident in him making the state finals in the 100-meter dash among other events, but it’s how fluid he is that impresses. The 5-foot-11, 186-pound Evans is so smooth changing direction. He’s an impact guy on the next level at running back, receiver, cornerback or safety.

At this particular camp, Evans was a cut above the rest through running back agility drills and in 1-on-1s it was easy for him to abuse the linebackers on the field. He’s sure-handed. Perhaps Evans best trait is his love for the game. If there is a football in the air, he’s typically performing at that particular camp.

Ranked by 247Sports as the nation’s No. 5 all-purpose back, Evans reiterated to 247Sports that he plans to announce his college decision Saturday. Michigan is the 247Sports Crystal Ball favorite
over offers from the likes of Michigan State, Minnesota, Indiana and Purdue.

Evans visited Ann Arbor this past weekend and was offered Sunday.

“Academics. They have a big hit on academics. It’s academics first. They have everything centered around academics and what you do there.

Less than a week later he was working with his potential future coaches.

Sucks if he ends up in Ann Arbor. I might be in the minority, but I loved his athleticism and versatility so I hope we stay involved until we're full.

I definitely think he could earn an offer at camp. Evans is no doubt a hard-working ATHLETE, and by the end of this coming year could be much more recognized than he is now.

If the staff thinks they have a spot for him on the roster, I would be happy to see an offer.

Per Anna, he may still commit this weekend due to the Enis commitment. His parents want him to pick Michigan now. However, he wants to wait for the OSU and ND camps then decide. If offered by ND Anna says he will be Irish.

Mentions the schools academics and how it comes first for football players. Does he think Jim still coaches Stanford, because that doesn't sound like the Michigan we know from a football player standpoint.

Just watched this kids tape and I think ND needs to offer him ASAP. Think this kid will be a star in the college level.

Dear staff,

If you have any question on how to recruit the state of Indiana a good rule of thumb to follow is, offer the 2 best players on both sides of the ball in Indy's MIC each cycle.

Now get to offering.

Who's Hairball's lead recruiter? Beiliein? I love it when UoM is forced to compete with Hoosiers. Takes away half of their argument before it starts. He can't get any in state guys because Sparty is kicking his azz so he steals them from Purdue and IU because ND didn't want.

One of them... (along with Noah Burks) is going to end up a player though and that will be tough to watch for me.

Time to hit the unsubscribe button Mr. Evans Good luck to you.

Isn't he on the list to come to II? Does this mean he is not coming now or does anyone think he will still come to try and get an offer from us? If he does come and get an offer, would he switch his commitment?

Ugh. Really liked this kid. Feel like MSU, OSU and Michigan are cleaning the floors with ND recruiting wise this year.

Do I just need to be patient?

I think so to the bolded. As far as guys we were really pressing for in the midwest we only lost out on Mack, King (more to that than just losing out...not a good fit academically and so on), Lyke and probably soon Robertson and Corley.

We got Eichenberg and Kraemer who are top tier national talents and we're sitting pretty well with Bredeson. With us taking a somewhat smaller class this year and UM, MSU and OSU taking normal sized or large (MSU) classes I think we're being more picky with our offers and holding out for guys we like more and we don't seem to be pushing real hard for all the midwest kids just because they're midwest kids. We have to be somewhat picky with our offers due to our small class size (something UM, MSU and OSU have the luxury of not doing this year) and I think if we really wanted guys like Chris Evans we could have had them...and I think we can still possibly snag Evans away from UM if we offer and make him a priority.

And with Sparty being on a roll the past 5 years or so and OSU coming of a NC win and UM hiring a legitimately good head coach I think we can expect midwest recruiting to be a little harder if we continue with the 8 win seasons no matter what the circumstances were. I don't think the 8 win seasons continue this year but if they do then expect things to get even tougher.

I'm not too worried tho because I think ND will turn a lot of heads in 2015 with 10+ wins and that will put us right back to the top in midwest kids eyes along with OSU.

Getting pushed out for 5 star Kareem Walker I assume. Harbaugh setting the precedent of pushing commits out early in his tenure I see.

Talk about a let down. I have a scholarship offer to Michigan, but I'm going to have to check out Purdue now.
