I'm offended by those terribly fake Tennessee accents. Those actors have obviously never been to ETN. I hope cocaine bear eats them all and sharts them out in Dollywood.

I just read the synopsis for cocaine near and can’t stop crying from laughter,…..

Apparently it's based...on a true story...and the bear's name is Pablo Escobear.

It doesn't come out for another month (Nov. 17th on HBO) but A Christmas Story Christmas looks like it might be a fun watch. A sequel to the 1983 comedy classic, it looks like it will feature all of the original kids from Ralphie to Farkus. It will probably be a typical corny, dopey, Hallmark TV kinda feel-good waste of time without any of the original's humor, but until I watch it and am disappointed, I'm going to hold out hope.

We watched it a couple nights ago and it was much better than I thought it was going to be

Went to see "The Menu" last night and it was pretty good, Not what I was expecting at all, thought it was going to be a "whodunit" but that wasn't exactly the case.

How creepy or gory was it? The last movie I saw was Bones and All which gave me more than my fill of those sort of movies for the month. Definitely considering watching The Menu though

It wasn't particularly gory, but I'm not sure what you're tolerance is. I was interested in seeing Bones and All which certainly looks to be much more blood and gore than the Menu. The Menu is more of a psychological thriller, though there are a couple of "violent" scenes. A severed finger and a little gun violence but nothing most couldn't handle.

It's got some dry humor in it as well, it's basically a satire of foodies and the grotesque spending habits they have on food.

Just watched Christmas Story Christmas mainly as a curiosity,… it was WAY better than I expected. I teared up a bit at the end.

If you haven’t watched the old one in a while in prob revisit it before the new one but everyone in the family really enjoyed it. It was really good

Watched Ticket to Paradise with Clooney and Julia Roberts. I'd give it 2 1/2 stars. Seems the writers tried a little too hard to have the divorced parents flinging zingers back and forth, but it was free.

I don't get emotional watching movies. I can count the times on one hand and have fingers left over. Then I watched A Man Called Otto today. Crap. Got me. Hanks does an outstanding job and never overacts or tries to oversell his character. Just a great love story about a man and his late wife. Yes, it's a bit predictable and sentimental, but it's still very good.

I finally watched "Creed." I'm a big fan of the "Rocky" franchise but it took a while for me to see this. Even though the story was what I expected it to be I still really enjoyed it. It's a solid movie and strong continuation of the "Rocky" saga.

I liked the first one a lot. Second one was also cool with the Drago angle. III doesn't have Rocky and I think the quality suffered for that.

The kids wanted to see all the Rocky movies after they saw all three Creed movies. Friday night we watched Rocky V (they thought it sucked) and Saturday night was Rocky Balboa (they loved it).

I really liked the Rocky Balboa and the first two Creed movies. The third one was ok. Entertaining but nowhere near as good as I and II.

I watched Everything Everywhere All At Once this week. I thought it was good and certainly original and very different, but Oscar worthy? I'm not sure about that. It probably deserved its best director Oscar, Ke Huy Quan deserved his Oscar for best supporting actor, and Michelle Yeoh probably deserved her best actress Oscar, but I don't think Jamie Lee Curtis' part was big enough nor challenging enough to warrant her Oscar. I enjoyed the movie, but don't think it was serious enough to warrant a movie of the year Oscar.

Isn't that how it works? Scorsese, Abrams, Cameron, Jackson, Bay, even Spielberg (most of the time) all rode their shticks to the top.

I don't remember most of his movies except The Wrestler and what made that interesting was Rourke's performance. Fraser's character & performance were likewise captivating. Plus, my high school brain kept screaming, that's Encino Man, that's Encino Man!... which gives me hope I've got another renaissance up my sleeve as I head into the 7th inning.

I haven't seen the movie so I can't speak to its merits but I'm guessing the Academy is doing a course correct to give awards to movies people have actually heard of or seen. Lately it seems like Best Picture has been reserved for obscure art house type films.

The Whale was 10x the movie.

Idk I loved them both but I can see why Everything won. While The Whale was great it didn’t really do anything unique. It wasn’t in contention for any technical awards. It’s a typical bummer drama. The script isn’t even original, it’s basically copied straight from the stage version.

I’ve never seen anything like Everything, Everywhere, All at Once.

Jamie Lee Curtis won it more as a lifetime achievement imo. Also looking at who else was nominated who deserved it more? I thought Angela Bassett was straight up bad in BP2, plus it’s a Marvel movie. A24 made the choice to campaign Curtis over Stephanie Hsu. The lady from Banshee was good but nothing earth shattering. 🤷🏻‍♂️
