Craziest part is I read somewhere that Alabama has some of the strictest drug laws in the country, and possessing more than even the tiniest amounts is an automatic sentence, no exceptions.

If you're confused about this, don't feel alone. We're all trying to figure this one out too. There's been nothing from the police or DA saying he wasn't arrested, just no indication from them or the court records that he WAS.

Makes me wonder if the police & DA are offering him a deal to roll on some bigger fish to avoid being charged. Otherwise, as you point out, Alabama has some tough drug laws and it seems unfathomable that he won't be arrested, as they seem to have caught him red-handed in the act of dealing, plus all the cash & weed in his room.

Jaborian "Tip" McKenzie testified that Brandon Vandenburg passed out condoms, encouraging players to have sex with the woman who was lying on a floor.

"He was like amped, demanding," McKenzie told jurors of Vandenburg's demeanor. "He was hyper, like he was coaching us to do whatever."

McKenzie testified that Vandenburg even tried to wake up his roommate, who was sleeping on the top bunk in a dorm room, to participate.

The roommate never got up, but McKenzie testified how his two best friends violated the female student. He said the alleged attack ended with Cory Batey urinating on the woman.

Vandenburg and Batey are being tried for rape. McKenzie and Brandon Banks are also charged. All have pleaded not guilty.
