Not a big fan of Walther, but he pretty much sums up my thoughts on the media/CNN situation.

On another note regarding Walther, have you heard the weird Chapo Boys interview with him? Crazy stuff.

1. Taking anything to a personal level is just plain scary. That's what CNN did by extorting the guy, and that's what happened to Andrew. Both are unacceptable. NoDk also speaks a bit of truth. Actions do have consequences, right or wrong. We've seen countless times on both sides, very bad mob-like behavior.

2. And I think we all know NoDk isn't wishing anyone harm. At the end of the day, hope the publicity around it is a learning exercise for all. I doubt it though.

3. Not fitting for Wooly. I can think of some other libs I'd like to stick that label on though lol.

4. I blew diet Coke threw my nose while driving on 285 when I read this. POY nomination.

5. Can't wait to see the drinking contest between you and Dakota lol. I'll furnish the sharpies to the victor.

1. Yep, if you start going after someone, hard to call them out for doing the same thing to you.

2. Truth. No one needs to get physically hurt or anything over this. But I'm sure he'll think twice before going bush league on someone for doing literally...nothing wrong.

3. Wooly is definitely not a Beta Cuck. Beta male? Perhaps.

4. Thank you. I'm flattered. Please save to the archives for the Envy Awards.

5. It'll be a contest in the same way Notre Dame playing a MAC school is a contest. Except I'm leaving the starters in the whole time. Gotta look good for the playoff committee.

I'm a little late to this, but here's an article by The Week's Matthew Walther titled "This hysterical CNN expose is everything wrong with contemporary journalism.":

It mentions racism and anti-Semitism...both of which are entirely plausible(possibly even likely). It reminds me of 4chan or reddit getting "Hitler Was Right" or something along those lines to win a contest to name the newest flavor of Mountain Dew a few years back. A lot of this stuff is jokes that are definitely in poor taste, classic NorthDakota posting type humor. I think they also got Mein Kampf to win "Best literary work of all time" or something like that. Are they Anti-Semites? Probably some of them I guess, though I can't actually think of a time I ever met someone who legitimately hated Jews, much less enough of them to find a way to win contest.

I'm not sure if ND vs MAC is a sure thing. Western Michigan would have likely beaten us last year.

That really hurt saying it, but true...
.... take the pain pain away.

CNN and the rest of the media/news filth played a huge role in creating our current political climate where individuals are forced to rely on internet anonymity to discuss controversial issues. Threatening to dox private citizens who fuck up their narrative with anonymous shit posting seems logical and doesn't surprise me. They deserve what they're getting from the lunatics at 4chan.

My comment on media today would be this short and to the point statement. Whether it be political sport or everyday news it is so incrusted with sensationalism that most intelligent people disregard almost all of it until they can further look in to it themselves. For example there are people doing sports today that literally don't know what they are talking about. I will never forget years ago talking boxing with a trainer and Cosell's name came up-he said the man knew nothing of what he spoke only jargon and buzz words that made one think he knew his stuff when in actuality he knew nothing. Today's example in baseball is RBI spoken as RBI's when I hear that (and I know its grammatically correct) I disqualify that clown right there-its been RBI for 100 years.

This is why 4chan is so endearing to me. It's non-stop vile shit-posting on the site from truly awful people, but when they come together and unleash "weaponized autism" to fight a common evil (in this case CNN), it is fun to watch.

*If you think 4Chan is a bunch of inept nerds only capable of firing off memes when angry, do some reading about what they have accomplished in the past. It's mind-blowing how such a chaotic site becomes a highly organized, well-oiled machine when they take the war outside of the site.

Me too. lol

Of course you both do. Your politics demand it of you.

In terms of Pravda on the Potomac, they may have stayed out of the Twitter war and other stupid stuff, but they are still happy owners of the left agenda. They are rated "high" in terms of factual reporting as opposed to CNN's "mixed" so I don't dismiss everything from them..... only the crap opinion pieces like the ones that spew......

it’s no surprise a Confederate battle flag made an appearance in the crowd before the European edition of Trump’s “American carnage” inaugural.

the above kind of crap. Oh the drama.

You wouldn't know this, but I voted for several republicans in the last election. I know you have a bleeding heart liberal pictured, but I'm actually more of an independent. As Lax is as well. The conversation we had yesterday was how WaPo has stayed under the radar by sticking to facts, reporting accurately, etc. So we just found it funny that one day later, when negative message for conservatives is written, suddenly they are biased media trolls now too. That couldn't be further from the truth with WaPo. I mentioned that anyone that defied the right in media get killed by Trump followers. That "taking the high ground" gets you the same result regardless if you're reporting anything negative against Trump. Lax used WaPo as an example, and at the time, I thought it was a really good example. But unfortunately you proved me right. I urge you to actually read the article and tell us what's so sensational, incorrect or misrepresented in it. Because it's a well written article.

Actually I am not in the least bit shocked you voted for some GOPers. And bleeding heart liberal is not what I picture. But it is more fun when we're debating. IIRC you are in banking? If that's not correct I apologize, but it's what stuck in my mind for some reason. Anyway, early on the picture I had was Independent because you were a guitar strumming banker. That's a picture of conflict lol. I too consider myself an Independent, not a Neocon. My favorite candidate last cycle was Kasich. Trump was actually at the bottom with Hilary for me. Pretty fair chance I would have voted Berndog had Hilldog and the DNC not screwed him. Anyway, I will admit I liked the anti-government smell of Trump as I have disdain for status quo and DC in general. What ultimately tipped things for me was likely just the SCOTUS issue. Sad state of politics when one has to boil it down to just one thing. But yes, I felt, and still feel it's better than HRC.

When I said your politics demand it, I should have said your hatred for Trump demands it. That would have been more accurate.

Regarding the article,,,, I did read it, and we're going to disagree on the article, and that's OK. I feel it's OK to be proud of our Western beliefs, tradition, and history. Everyone has something to apologize for. Doesn't mean they can't be proud of the good. I'm tired of being told how bad the West is, and that being proud of it, or saying so only inflames Muslims or others. I feel the enemies of the Western World, and those with a secular agenda are contributing to the rot that is going on today inside the US. WaPo going after the symphony comment was just plain silly. The confederate flag comment, nothing but sensationalism. Trying to link him to King's comments, lazy.

I'm just tired of reading the same old tired retread stories. Capehart simply selected components of the speech he could sensationalize.

Capehart is a bonehead liar anyway. Not sure if you recall, he's the one that called Bernie a liar about attending a civil rights sit in. He was clearly proven wrong by other photos clearly showing that Berndog was indeed there. Does he retract or recant. Hell no. He goes on and publishes another anti Bern article.

edit/add - If WaPo was serious about taking the high road, they would boot dipshits like Capehart.

Ha. Dude breaks the law, is a dick to the cops, then tries to be a dick once again with a fabricated story about how he feared for his life. Way to go.

The female officer was about as nice as could be expected. Would love to see the Sheriff's office file suit against the paper.

Actually sat down and read the article. It never once blames this guy or Trump for Hodgkinson shooting Republicans. All it does it talk about the environment Hodkinson came from, and how being disgruntled crosses party lines. In fact it notes:
At the church, members said it would be unfair to suggest any link between Romanik’s words and Hodgkinson’s actions but noted that Romanik speaks to a humiliating pain among the white working class that black Americans have felt for a long time.

The only part that's shady is that the article (rather intentionally, IMO) doesn't outright say up front that it was specifically Republicans targeted by a left wing extremist.

Regardless, pointless article but I certainly don't understand where the "outrage" is coming from besides people being intentionally obtuse or not actually reading it.
