9,000 vbucks (all I have) says it's Sarkesian.

He's the one I'd want, I think. Sarkisian plus Tosh at USC would be a recipe for a powerhouse.

I don't know much about Del Rio, but it kind of scares me that he, like Pete Carroll, would be an enthusiastic, high-energy guy who got a shot as a pro head coach but couldn't hack it and came to the college ranks with the benefit of his NFL experience under his belt. I really don't want Pete Carroll all over again at USC. They were a freaking juggernaut. To the extent that comparison is a good one, sans NCAA violations, SC might want to go the Del Rio route.

Not sure about Del Rio -- he hasn't really been successful wherever he's gone, nor does he seem particularly smart or charismatic. That is, I don't think he's particularly good at anything, other than being an alumnus who's been in the NFL for a long time. Almost like a USC Mike Singletary.

I agree, but wouldn't we have said that about Pete Carroll when he started at USC? That's what scares me about him.

True, but something about Del Rio just makes me think he's more of a "hard-***" than anything else, and almost the opposite from the cheerleader/charismatic figure Carroll is/was. If I remember correctly, Del Rio used to wear suits as a head coach, and then went to a leather jacket...

Can you imagine Sark, Tosh, Ed O? If they ever figured out a way to have Tosh and Oregeron on the same staff, it would be game over out there recruiting.

USC athletic director Pat Haden said after Thursday's win against Arizona that interim coach Ed Orgeron is a long-term candidate for the full-time job.

Haden wouldn't announced a timetable for his decision. "Let's worry about next week," Haden said. Orgeron seems to be the antithesis of everything Kiffin -- USC's deposed head coach was a handsome slick talker, for instance, while Orgeron looks like an upper-level bodyguard and speaks with such a heavy Cajun inflection that it sounds as though his words are coming through a blender -- and that is the best thing he has going for him at the moment. "No disrespect to the coach that was here before, but you want a coach that you will fricking just go to war for every time," quarterback Cody Kessler said. "I don't only speak for myself, I speak for the whole team that we would go to war for this guy any day of the week. Any time he needed us we have his back 100 percent. I couldn't ask for a better head coach right now."-Rotoworld

What else is Haden going to say?

"I'm for sure going to fire this guy. Don't tell him though because we really need him to keep recruiting."

i will donate every vbuck i have, streak thru times square naked if Ed Orgeron was to ever become the next head coach (not interim) at USC.
there is no way in hell Haden picks him to succeed Kiffin.
they are one and the same Haden knows this.

Kiffin was simply a placesetter at USC, from the get go...Haden is in this for the long haul and will clean house

ps Kiffin is going to be on ESPN College Gameday tomorrow morning (guy has no shame)
