The talking heads on ESPN didn't feel the Tide offense will skip a beat.

Finebaum, however, was all gloom and doom. Something like Sarkisian is coming from the darkest corner of his life. Who knows if he's recovered and ready?

I'll submit Saban finds Sark less distracting than a Kiffin media interview.

I think Saban learned his lesson last year with Kirby. If the coordinator can't devote all of his time for the playoffs then it is time to go. As far as Sark... I don't believe Saban would have given him the opportunity if he didn't think he was ready. Time will tell I guess.

Saban has to be so relieved to have Kiffy out of the picture. I felt like he was a big thorn in his side. Wonder what type of game Cutty Sark will call? This will be an interesting title game.

I bet Saban told Sark to start coordinating separate game plans for both Ohio State and Clemson a month ago, that way he could step into the job already prepared for the title game regardless of the opponent, and could call the game on "short notice."

Saban had it planned since the SEC 'chip.

I don't know if Saban had it planned that far back, but it's a very safe bet that nobody's scrambling to catch up in the staff offices today either. Kiffin soiled the sheets Saturday and Saban's almost certainly had a Sarkisian contingency plan in place for awhile. He likely made the decision Saturday night and Sark's been working on a game plan since then, if not a lot earlier.

I wonder how much Kiffin has really learned...read the article on ESPN and Kiffin said that Saban will probably get along better with Sark because "He handles people better." Uhhh...I don't know if I'd make a comment like that when you're about to step into another HC position. You have to handle a LOT of people as a HC. Just seemed like a dumb statement to make, even if it's true you don't admit to something like that.

He's made a dumb statement at each of his departures. He's got tenure by now.

Bizarre goings on over there...

Frosh QB...new OC...An angry Clemson team...Good Clemson Dline...good Clemson secondary...good Clemson DC. Man I hope fr Bama's sake their improved attack on the edge can get to Watson...

Bama is Bama, but if you were trying to manage all of the moving parts, this isn't setting up for Bama to be at its best...

I think even distracted Kiffin is a smarter move than Bringing Sark and his baggage off the bench to pinch hit...but then he is Saban, so we'll see I guess.

As Saban is, I believe he knows that Clemson has a good enough offense to beat the Bama defense, and knows the Bama offense is not good enough to beat the Clemson defense and the Kiffin move will be Saban's escape-goat......

well... maybe....

When it comes to Alabama the last few years they're good enough to beat anyone. When they lose it's usually because they beat themselves unfortunately.

I don't think it necessarily has anything to do with his happiness. He's always been one of the worst on camera cfb coaches I've ever seen.

Has anyone ever seen his "it's time" commercials from his Tennessee tenure? Just terrible.

Yeah I can't find them. I'll try again later.

Basically Tennessee really wanted Lane to be a "badass" when they hired him and so they put him in a lot of commercials and photoshoots where he was meant to look like one.

It was awesome:

1) Please get a shirt that fits correctly

2) Liars blink more after telling a lie, at least according to my FBI friends. I find it interesting that his rate of blinking increases considerably after his "what an exciting time" comment.

Dear lord get the man a configurable teleprompter (its clear someone was holding up cards, or his teleprompter was actually a timed powerpoint presentation that he hadn't seen before)...and yea, dress him right.

I mean you could say Kiffy sucks...and indeed he does...but someone had to let this out...that person needs traded for a horse you could take out back and shoot....HOW IN THE HELL COULD YOU LET THAT OUT???

its just a nightclub...shrug.

If he's doing community outreach...I'd aim for the country club...but then again, the dude that set up that inspiring video might also be leading up his PR campaign...and here we are.

He's got game. Gotta give him that, at least. At 40, I don't think I'd be too interested in the low-hanging fruit at a college bar, though.

At 18 they're probably the only ones that don't know, yet, what an asshole he is.
