I truly would love to hear a Trojan fan's thoughts on Kiffin and the circus atmosphere that is constantly growing around the USC program.

Does it really matter that he has the #1 recruiting class behind him? They're kind of like Duke and Carolina in College BBall, they virtually recruit themselves.

Mike & Mike and the Andy Furman Artrell Hawkins radio shows both went off on Kiffin. Said the same that there is no way the manager did this on his own. If Hayden is tru to his word about cleaning up USC's reputation, the you have to think he's giving serious thought to letting him go.

Cell phone with SC fight song as the ringtone. Rinnngggg.......Lane, this is Pat. We need to have a parent teacher conference in my office right away. That's right, bring your Dad with you.

looking for deception here:

USC Trojans fire student manager for deflating game footballs - ESPN Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES -- USC fired a student manager for deflating five game balls below regulation levels for the USC-Oregon game last Saturday, the school announced late Wednesday.

More from ESPN

A year that was supposed to showcase USC football succeeding in the face of sanctions has gone awry with three losses, lots of questions across the board and a series of off-field distractions involving Lane Kiffin, writes We Are SC's Garry Paskwietz. Blog Insider

Lane Kiffin is so good at recruiting, so nimble an offensive thinker, that you can feel the potential even as it lays there, untapped. But ESPNLA.com's Mark Saxon wonders if he can stay out of his own way long enough to let his vision unfold. Story

• Katz: Defense continues to struggle Insider
• Paskwietz: 5 stories for USC-ASU Insider

The manager, who was not named, admitted to deflating footballs used in the game, according to a report on the school's website. In the report, USC said no coaches, players, staffers or administrators had any knowledge of the manager's actions, which reportedly took place after game officials tested the balls well before kickoff.

The Pac-12 accepted USC's self-discipline on Wednesday and added a $25,000 fine to the football program.

"We acknowledge the Pac-12's reprimand and fine," USC athletic director Pat Haden said. "We regret this incident occurred. It was unacceptable and we apologize for it. I can assure you this will not happen again."

USC coach Lane Kiffin said the compliance department researched the situation and concluded the manager acted alone.

"They don't know why he did (it)," Kiffin said. "(Quarterback) Matt (Barkley) was questioned in this as well, obviously. He had no knowledge of this at all."
**But he never mentions that he was questioned-clearly he was. Not involving himself in this is a deceptive data point.

Scott Van Pelt details the firing of a student manager at USC for deflating footballs. Van Pelt says this is the latest example of fishy behavior by Lane Kiffin.

Kiffin was "disappointed" by the manager's actions.

"It was a distraction that nobody here knew about," he said Thursday. "It had no effect on the game. If anything it'd have a negative effect ... throwing two different types of balls for our quarterback. I was just disappointed because it was a distraction that we didn't need."

**Minimizing the consequence of what occurred-it had no effect. Data point 2.
Three balls were found to be in violation of NCAA regulations before the game began, and two more were discovered at halftime, meaning some first-half plays featured slightly deflated footballs.

Under-inflated footballs typically travel at a slower speed than fully inflated balls and are thought to be easier to catch and throw.

"Obviously as a head coach everything falls on you," said Kiffin. "This situation was brought to our attention not 'til this Sunday by the conference, that there was a situation before the game, where a student manager, on the Oregon sidelines, in front of the Oregon team, was deflating footballs. The compliance department obviously did a very thorough check and research of everything involved to make sure that there was no knowledge of any coaches or players knowing anything about this. I don't know why it was done."
**Interesting that he never mentions himself in this debacle. Pointing to the compliance dept to look into it and not him? Data point 3.
Said Oregon coach Chip Kelly on Sirius XM: "I heard about it postgame, but doesn't affect us. We worry -- and our concern -- is what we can control."

USC lost to Oregon, 62-51, after trailing, 34-24, at halftime.

Information from ESPN's Joe Schad and the Associated Press was used in this report.

Typically you look for clusters-as in one deceptive data point means nothing. We may have clusters here, although I have not studied him at all. This def warrants a closer look.

When I did this for Kelly's PC during AL drama-tons of clusters-although I never posted.

I love the USC fans theory that Oregon's coach paid the USC student manager to do it to make USC look bad. LOL

OK, two things:

1) The internet is not big enough to contain the amount of WIN that video has just produced

2) Tell me more about the surfer chicks at the end...

Good stuff from John Walters (ND Alum)

That Lane Kiffin, he's got some (deflated) balls

He does not bend, or break, the rules because he feels he needs to do so in order to win. He does so because he is addicted to the thrill of it.

What we know is this: Kiffin loves risk and he loves the thrill of demonstrating how much smarter he is than those who play by the rules. He is a narcissist. It is no exaggeration to suggest that he is pathological. And so he will strike again. Eventually, he will let the air out of his own once-promising career.

What we would love to have is a conversation with the student manager’s parents. There’s taking one for the team and then there is the matter of having your reputation unduly sullied. Most parents would not allow a person in Kiffin’s position, much less an institution such as USC, to exploit their child in that way.

I have been hoping that the student manager himself or his parents came out and said it was all Kiffin or Barkley.

Unfortunately, Haden is a good guy and could really land the right coach to capitalize on the benefits of the program. I just hope he sticks with Kiffin, but being such an ethical individual, I don't see him putting up with this crap for much longer. Say what you want about his announcing, he's a good guy and could get USC doing it right. Kiffin is not a Haden kind of guy.

Why the hell did they hire him then? They knew what he was at TN. Slime.

I just wanted to say that apart from loving Kiffin's antics, I really enjoy the title of this thread.

I see it being a line in an old sitcom where someone puts their hands on their hips and says, "Is Kiffin Kiffining again?"

Then a smirking child of a Lane Kiffin shrugs. *Canned Laughter*

This just in...in a continuing tradition of falling up from every job, once Kiffin is fired he will accept the Democratic nomination for President in 2016.

"How can I get away with using 14 players on the field." I can see the wheels turning in his head.
