If it happens he will be leaving the program in the best shape it's been since Holtz left... #brightside

Yeah I would think it wouldn't be difficult to attract a top coach considering we should be competing for a national championship next year with the talent we have returning on both sides of the ball.

obviously want him to stay, but really the only thing that would stress me is the current recruiting class... make the right hire, make it quick, and keep the class together...

Just think of what Kiffin could do with this kind of talent.

Talent would be improved, but the reasons BK would leave would have nothing to do with talent.

How could any ND fan just brush off the theoretical departure of BK??? It only took us 14 years to find a coach who could bring the Irish back into the forefront of college football.

After seeing Texas have such a struggle last year to fill their HC opening, I don't want to think of what Jack's options would be.

ND is back in the forefront of college football???

Anyway, how could I brush it off??

1.) It's a hypothetical, which makes it easy.
2.) again, even if he leaves, ND is in a better place than it has been, BK ain't gonna be here forever one way or the other.

So you think that it would be difficult to attract a top coach if BK were to leave?

I do. Why would a top guy want to come to ND where there is as much (and more) pressure to win as anywhere, without the full support of the school. This week, we're playing a school who lets their QB continue to play after all the B.S. he has pulled while we suspend some of our best players for academic reasons. Name me one other school that has suspended its starting QB and other top players for academic reasons. Think about how may YEARS it took for ND to okay a training table for its players. One fucking meal a day and it took forever. Other schools seem to be passing out roids like candy and we're dragging our feet over guys eating chicken. If I'm a top coach, I'm going to a big school where the playing field is level, not to a school who tries to compete with one hand tied behind its back (actually I would coach at ND but that's because I love the place).

This thread is just gonna keep on going on IMO. As long as Brian Kelly is winning at ND these rumors aren't going to die. It's not like ND is helping themselves out with this situation. Kelly has had to deal with a ton of bullshit at ND.

Maybe if we talk about pretend bad stuff that is not happening, real bad stuff won't happen?

In any event, it wouldn't be Notre Dame football without at least one depressing topic on the front page. I guess Ebola wasn't bad enough...

In CFB, everyone thinks you're either on the hot seat or 'looking' unless you're Saban/Meyer. If BK goes, I don't blame him, but I also think he's going to have a really tough time not returning for at least 2015. He'd be leaving with a full house of talent.

Well I hope Chuck Martin is ready for the job at ND.

I am still baffled people think he will be the head coach at ND after BK leaves

I agree. Also, I have a hard time seeing Kelly be as successful in the pros as he is in college. His strength are so college football. He might want a new challenge though. I think( or wish) he sticks. That's just my gut telling me that haha.

Don't take this the wrong way cause there's no one I'd rather have right now at ND, but BK would get hammered by fans for some of his play calling at the NFL level IMO. It's not his strength.
