- Scholarship numbers: Can comfortably fit in 25 because some are EEing which can count against last seasons cap. Anymore then 25 will require decisions on 5th year players, etc.

- Still looking at 1 more RB and still feel confident that its Jamabo although its much more of a fight then hoped for.

- Also looking for one more safety and Frank Buncom is the best bet at this point.

- CB is open for another but only of the elite type, specifically mentioning Iman Marshall, Minkah Fitzpatrick, and Ykili Ross.

- ND would like to add another pass rushing or true DL. Names such as Christian Wilkins, Joseph Wicker, and Rasheem Greene. Porter Gustin is most likely to fill the spot however.

- Offensively, ND wants another pass catcher and look to ESB or A'lize Jones to be that but don't discount Lawrence Cager.

- Nyheim Hines (Offense) and Gary Jennings (Defense) are names to possibly be on the look out for if ND wants to get creative.

- Golson has surprised some people this past week. The loss to FSU has some thinking a fire has been lit in him. Some were caught off guard at how hard he took the loss and has been vocal about it. Its not his personality to be outspoken.

- There is a real possibility of DD returning to ND next season. He is looking over all possibilities to include the NFL and DIAA and DII. His family is supporting whichever he decides.

- His family was upset at the investigation because of how long it took, not necessarily the punishment. They also voiced concerned over the lack of contact by ND but understand its because of federal laws and not ND.

- DD has met with BK recently although it wasn't revealed as to what about.

- Bob Elliott did stop by to see Porter Gustin and talk with Gustin's coach who is also his cousin. ND has been the only visit thus far due to a crazy travel schedule if he went anywhere else. It reaffirmed how badly he wanted to get to ND.

- Nyheim Hines is looking at visiting in November. Gary Jennings is finalizing plans for the Northwestern game.

- Jerry Tillery: ND will not give up on him and will continue to recruit him like he was an uncommitted prospect. A staff down south, not LSU, has been trying to flip him but have been given the impression that he is sticking with ND. Despite the visits, Tillery has shown other signs behind the scenes that he is sticking with ND.

- The staff did visit with Tillery this past week and it went really well. Tillery is filling out paperwork to be able to EE at ND. He has told the staff that he's just been having fun and nothing more. He told the staff that he will stick with them and ISD's source said they believe he is sincere.

- Mike Denbrock, after having visited with Tillery, also checked in on Shea Patterson. Denbrock told Patterson's coaching staff that he is of high priority, if not the highest priority for 2016. Denbrock had been in constant communication with the Patterson family all summer and concern grew when that communication suddenly stopped...until it was revealed it was for health reasons. Then concern switched over to his well-being.

- Denbrock and Patterson have a relationship that is as strong as ever. Patterson could be in to visit ND for a basketball game. He's carrying a 4.0 and the commitment of Wimbush has not deterred Patterson at all.

- Jaylon Smith helped with the Te'von Coney commitment because he was able to express the feeling between the two is mutual. That helped Coney.

- Elijah Holyfield is a legit 4.5 guy at 205 lbs. Could be in the 4.4's next year. He has interest in ND and wants to visit. He has visited OSU and Michigan so he's looking at other places not in the south.

- Justin Yoon's recovery is on schedule.

Thanks brotha!

Fantastic INTEL.... Surprised by Gustin news. Great to hear about Tillery as well.

Yeah it was pretty good this week. However, I noticed Wiltfong threw down a CB for Gustin to the Condoms today so boo that. Honestly at this point I have no idea where we will get another DL player, but I would feel much better if we could add one more.

I interpret that as meaning that Gustin is more likely than Wilkins, Wicker or Greene... which is clearly true because there is very little chance of ND landing any of the last three.

I don't think this means that ND is likely to land Gustin.

That's exactly how I took ISD to mean.

These two together led me to believe there is serious interest on his part. More so than I thought.

It's always been the Trogans and everyone else. I'm actually surprised Wiltfong took this long to CB him to the Trogans.

It's a testament to ND and ND's coaches that ND is so heavy in the mix for Porter...

Defense needs to dismantle the condoms come November.

My bad.

Coney mentioned Jaylon during his press conference yesterday saying he's a great player and it'll be an honor playing next to him. Coney's father told ISD that Jaylon really likes Te'von. Coney has been going around telling anybody who would listen that Jaylon is the one guy he wants to play with. Jaylon is a player that makes Coney want to play hard and he hopes Coney can make Jaylon work harder.

The way it was worded it sounded like a big brother/little brother situation.

Is agree with this. I'm having a hard time believing it.

ISD made a point to note that Gustin has pushed off visiting other schools because it would have been too much trouble for him during his season. The fact that he made a point to visit ND has shown some people that Gustin is legitimately interested in ND.

While it may seem unlikely, ND is putting up a good fight.

I agree, I bumped his thread earlier today and saw Wilfong CB him to USC. I just think if we would have gotten Porter on campus a little later on in the process it would have helped us in the long run. Still staff seems to doing excellent work on his recruitment. Wonder if Kelly will personally recruit him or not. He tends to do that with the guys he wants down the stretch. So I think it's something to look out for.

Now let's hope for an act of God that leads Jaylon to come back for his Sr season so that he can get some playing time with Coney.

Apologies for the lateness. Got a new job and was checking out of the old one.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Get all of that and much more in this week’s ISD Intel. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/NotreDame?src=hash">#NotreDame</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Irish?src=hash">#Irish</a> <a href="http://t.co/80HJAMKNsY">http://t.co/80HJAMKNsY</a></p>— Irish Sports Daily (@ISDUpdate) <a href="https://twitter.com/ISDUpdate/status/528170602293493760">October 31, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

- ISD Keys to the game:

1. Attack and Stretch
2. Be simple with your complexity
3. Secure the edge
4. Use your speed
5. Handle the cut blocks
6. Tackle in space

- Christian says that Iman Marshall really hasn't gotten into recruiting yet. He stays in "good contact" with the staff but he hasn't gone out of his way to setup trips or anything like that.

- As for Ykili Ross, he hasn't gotten his test score back but it could come any day. The plan is to visit for Louisville and the Gug feels like they have a good shot.

- ND is on the hunt for another safety. One name that gets brought up is Hunter Dale for the obvious connection to Bo Wallace but he's also the godson to Irv Smith. Unsure when he will visit despite grumblings it'd be for Louisville.

- After a visit from Kerry Cooks during the bye week, lookout for Khalil Haughton. As Christian writes, he is a Notre Dame kid. He's already taken 3 official visits and has Texas Tech and Baylor lined up but is seriously considering using one of those visits for ND and is a safety thats at or near the top of ND's board.

- Nothing truly boiling with the DT position. ND continues to recruit Christian Wilkins but DT isn't at the top of ND's wishlist.

- Soso Jamabo...word is people in Jamabo's corner want him to end this already and pick Notre Dame but he is still visiting other places. The family is in Notre Dame's corner.

- Nick Brossette will be visiting Texas and while the pull to remain near home is still there, ND does believe he is a flip risk. They remain high on him because him and his corner have stated that they remain serious about looking down the road and whats beyond.

- Ben Edwards is officially set for the Louisville game. He visited Stanford last week and his only other visit at this time is to UCLA. Scott Booker and Kyle McCarthy are handling his recruitment and Edwards has taken a liking to both. He feels he fits right into ND's aggressive scene and is looking to fit in comfortably with wherever he chooses. Trust in the staff is important to him.

Intel then dives into the CFB playoffs and which games to watch for this week. They mention where a few recruits will be headed this week and Austin Mack does a Q&A from fans. Nothing ground breaking.

From ISD's greatest, Chris Mc:

- Malik Henry is expected to pick FSU. Lack of communication in recent weeks and Florida sources indicate the choice to be FSU.

- Shea Patterson has been making the rounds and schools like Ole Miss and USC have stood out to him, along with ND. This is going to be a battle for a long time.

- Nick Brossette is still hoping to visit Texas and Alabama. ISD sources in Texas don't think Texas is going after Brossette or Soso because the Texas staff is going after and is high on a RB by the name of Chris Warren.

- Frank Buncom answered some questions from fans. Among other things, leaving Cali isn't a problem and he sees himself being able to play both safety positions. Someone asked about his plan for the next 20 years and he mentions playing in the NFL then having a successful neurology career along with holding a share in a Fortune 500 company whose CEO is a classmate of his. He views himself as a Troy Polamalu type.

- Thiyo Lukusa appeared to be a lock for Michigan but with all of their problems, they appear to be on the outside looking in. ND made his Top 6 and is being recruited by LaFleur.

- BVG visited a big '16 prospect in DE Chidi Okoyna from GA who appears to be a big time recruit for next cycle. Chidi was very excited about the visit comparing ND to an Ivy League school who also happens to have a big time historical program. There's legit interest.

- Mike Elston stopped by '16 RB Antonio Williams from NC and was told to expect a visit from Tony Alford. They are forming a good relationship but his strongest relationship is with Wisconsin.

- Other notes involve where recruits will be this weekend. Tillery will be in LSU for the Alabama game. Along with a ton of other kids, a lot with ND offers so don't go nuts when you see stuff on social media. (Christian answers a question about Tillery by stating that they're going off what they've been told and that from every 'angle' possible, ISD has been told that Tillery is going to be ND.)

- He ends his notes with a 'Who to Root For' section.
