You're right. With the way Warriner is pulling in those elite O Linemen... Wait, what's that? Never mind.

And that killer d-talent, and that hot '14 qb to groom for taking over after what's his name . . .

(So far the only real success I have seen is on paper, because the toughest team the Bucks beat was Michigan with a hobbled Denard.

Can't believe the ref robbed the Spartans of that Pic 6, game winning, go ahead touchdown! When the replay showed that there was clearly no reason to call a penalty and blow the whistle!

This. A tremendous amount of effort goes into planning a visit. So when this kid, all of a sudden, decides out of the blue, to to tag the Ohio State visit on after he visits ND, and the coaches are expected to cater to him? No way. UFM might have done that in the past while he was at Florida, but he is a changed man now, to extend his longevity as a HC. Moving on.

I don't really see the visit as that detrimental to Lorenzo's recruiting. Urban probably knows that too. Lorenzo's going to wait awhile before he declares, and the season hasn't even started. He'll probably return to ND and a number of other places for live games, including Columbus. Either way, Urban won't sweat it. OSU has always gotten their guys and we get ours.

Lets just all be glad that Iowa State hasn't offered...

You know he would commit on the spot

These insights into how southern recruits perceive ND prior to visiting are fascinating. It goes to show just how much work is probably involved in simply getting these kids to visit at all.

Yeah, it's almost crazy the negative impression ingrained in some kids about ND. Really makes me wonder if it's a product of negative recruiting or just a cultural norm growing up in a region really detached from ND/ND alums & fans.

I think it's a combination of both. The predetermined mind set about Notre Dame from an area detached, just gives negative recruiting fuel to add to the fire.

It's hard because its true. ND is churchy and structured compared to Auburn and Ole Miss.

If you are more religious, UGA and Clemson , where the coaching starff will have a bible study with you every once in while.

We are always going to have a hard time with kids who think of college as the minor leagues.

That's fine. These kids wouldn't succeed at Notre Dame anyways.

This. Many of these kids don't know much about Notre Dame or know many Notre Dame people and what they do know they hear from people who are predisposed in a different direction (towards the SEC).
Only way to combat that is to keep working down there, and, of course, winning football games.

I would be surprised if tOSU came back into the picture based on what he mentioned-"whatever". Seems like these high star folks learn to feel the love from a school that's recruiting them and tOSU failed miserably. Let me clarify-doesn't take too many visits to know when a school "wants" you and it seemed like he did not have that feeling.

I was somewhat disappointed that he still has unanswered Engr questions. Maybe they were Q's he thought of after he left or maybe the coaches wanted him to have some unanswered Q's in order to come back. I would feel better if he had all the answers and only wanted to return to show the folks. #Whatever

Would like to see this guy don the gold helmet.

Fbolt, I was thinking about that too. Maybe the questions were not really about the ND program, maybe they were about the overall job it takes to play massive college football and try to major in engineering, or at least, maybe the questions are based upon some bull **** another school threw to Lorenzo, and ND has cleared the picture, so to speak!

Loy asked Carter what he thought about Bama being the presumed leader and Carters response "I don't get that, if I had to name a leader today it wouldn't be them. It's a great school, but I'm not sure yet." With that said if he had to choose a school right now I don't think it would be ND either probably UF or FSU seem to a little in front.

We have a problem.

That would be a call to Gene Kranz. I actually know him. He went to school with my family (multiple) and I know some of his extended family quite well.

He owned Mission Control in the Gemini and Apollo days. And he is Fightin' Irish. At least Toledo Central Catholic, (Deshone Kizer's high school.)

Can't wait to see this kid, and a few of his pals play in person. Only a 10 minute ride for me. Think I might have to make a big azz ND sign to take with....

Anyone in the ATL area want to join. We need a green out LOL.

According to 247, Carter said ND and Florida are locked in for official visits.
