Thank you all for your concern LOL. I ended up working late and then totally spaced on this when I did get home. Here goes...
On Oklahoma... sources (re: coaches) are saying the game plan is to run the ball and play ball control offense. Doesn't seem like there is a lot of faith in the D's ability to stop the Oklahoma attack. I'm expecting a bad loss.
Crootin'...
-Lots of visitors in town this weekend, but USC seems like the end-all be-all of recruiting weekends. This weekend you've mostly got underclassmen plus some current commits. For Oklahoma you've got commits in Weishar, Brent, and Tillery + Aliz'e Jones + a lot of prospects without an offer... Morgan, Vann, Littlejohn, Austin Mack... guys ND very well might offer down the road.
-Status quo with Tranquill. I personally continue to believe he is a very valuable piece for this class for when we play spread teams with speed in the future, and I think he's got a similar athletic profile to Zeke Motta except maybe a tad faster straight line speed. The question will be how much he can bulk up and if he can play with "power" at all. I really hope we land him.
-Tillery looks like the cornerstone to 2015. The fact that he's making so many trips to South Bend and that he didn't go to Texas A&M/Alabama is a big statement.
-McKenzie seems to be but a formality in terms of a commit. May announce on USC weekend. He's making good academic progress... still has yet to take SAT.
-Our OL commits are currently recruiting Bo Scarborough and to me he seems to be the only real RB target left on the board. IMO, he's very similar to Hood but less of a natural RB so I like Scarborough less. But he's a PHENOMENAL athlete. Will visit ND for the USC game and right now it's probably a toss up between Florida and Alabama.
-Hoge, along with every recruit seemingly on the face of this earth, will be visiting for the USC game. I'm not sure how much I like this super recruiting weekend thing because it failed last time in 2011, but it also has potential to be awesome I guess. With respect to Hoge... if ND can lock him down it'll more or less close out OL recruiting for 2015 save elite prospects that the coaches can be very picky on.
-While many believed Rosen would shut ti down for Stanford if offered, he seems pretty perturbed by the lack of offer from them. He doesn't plan on seriously getting into recruiting until after his season and he's no longer a Stanford lock. I still expect him to stay west, but ND will have a shot. Just another example of how not offering early can burn you.
-Tyler Luatua eliminated Ohio State citing "shady business"... sound like they were telling him he was their "#1 guy" and then looked to have him move his visit or otherwise is more interested in Mike Gesicki from NJ. Gesicki visited Notre Dame and our coaches chose not to offer/pursue. Or maybe Meyer told him he'd be the "next Aaron Hernandez" and that struck the wrong cord

.... either way, looks down to Alabama and ND and I like our chances if we don't tank down the stretch here.
