Alrighty then...

On Hood: he basically committed in February, was going to make a formal announcement after visiting UNC, and then after visiting UNC with his family the whole paradigm shifted and it looked like he was going to only consider local schools. Then he visited Notre Dame again and committed. And now he is decommitted and staying home... presumably at UNC. ISD basically says what we've all heard... take Hood's comments at face value... it's not about Notre Dame, it's about "family." Take all external influences out of the equation, and he'd be going to ND. Also, Vee's comments about "something happening" are bogus and/or being misinterpretted...

The other commits were surprised but it seems they understand where Elijah is coming from. Look for Kizer to be the behind the scenes leader of the Golden Army moving forward. Other RB targets?

Starks is a guy with a lot of hurdles to clear, but if he could get past them ND would be in a really strong position to land his commitment. Likely not going to happen though.

Expect ND to reach out to all of the guys we've been talking about... Scarborough might be the best bet if he gets his academics in order.

On Bonner, there are some anecdotes about him dominating camp for 3 straight days. Against Bars, Tillery, and Byrne he was completely unstoppable. ISD expects him to be your classic "sleeper."

Away from recruiting and onto the team...

GAIII will be your starter at RB. Expect Carlisle to be #2 as he has impressed at RB as well as in the slot. Cam McDaniel is your most complete back... I personally expect him to be used around the goal line unless Mahone really steps up... and ISD thinks he could be a factor. Bryant and Folston are legit, but both will probably be used in very limited roles at first as they're still picking up the offense. Expect carries to increase more and more as the year goes on if they're showing flashes.

ND loves what they have at WR this year versus years past. A lot of depth... expect lots of different personnel groupings. Same with tight end.

Safety position is apparently a big worry. Shumate isn't there mentally. Collinsworth... who was really coming along before his injury last year... looks like he could be the Day 1 starter. It's your classic quandary over whether to play the better athlete or the smarter player.

On the DL, Schwenke looks really good. Rochelle should get some snaps and has a lot of potential but it is always hard for true frosh. Expect Rochelle maybe to play the amount of snaps Day played last year.

Cole Luke is great. Probably the most talented prospect we've brought in in some time. Devin Butler has also been impressive and Kinlaw has never played CB before, but is showing a lot of long term promise. All in all, we have 3 really good prospects in the system that we should be able to groom into solid-to-great players. In general, the entire freshman class looks to have an abundance of great attitude, effort, and talent.

I can't ever figure out what makes that video/gif so awesome. There are plenty of hot girls jumping around the Internet but that one is the best. It's either the smile or the ponytail. Need to do more research...

It's nice that she's a real tomboy athlete too and wins that hurdle race.... which was, I believe an Australian final of some sort.

WAY too beautiful for this old man to stare at too long. Need a football game and a shower.

(1) Her shape and apparent flexibility; combined with (2) her obvious confidence and energy in that gif indicate a rare combination of sexual fitness and social ability. Hypothalamus says "would wife".

Wow. That pretty much clears it up. Nice work, Whiskeyjack.

The phrase "sexual fitness" is a fine one. Does it mean appealingly fit or fit for sex? Don't answer; I'm savoring the ambiguity.

She was pretty smokin' in the SI swimsuit shoot

I think it's the smile, the energy, the little wiggle, the body, and a little internet viralness thrown in

Watch the gif again and watch the girl behind her. She's staring as much as the rest of us.

Neither! It means she would likely produce competitive off-spring, thereby maximizing your chances of further propagating your genes.

Between this and the Dallas cheerleader thread, I'm apparently talented at deflating any conversation that involves an attractive female.

OMM has done his research! Nice, old fella!

You are correct. Her name is Michelle Jeneke (sp?)

New Intel just dropped... here are the quick hitter:
-Irish still #1 or at the top for Watkins. He and Hendrix on tap for the USC game. Nothing we didn't know.
-McKenzie still leaning towards ND but the academic side of things is still a question mark. Maybe we would take a commitment contingent on academic goals being met.
-From "sources" very close to the program (re: coaches)... very high on Elmer and Stanley. They think as Stanley develops he could be truly great and he's picking things up rapidly. Will Fuller might not make a huge impact this year but he looks to be a big contributor in the long run. Maybe the next TJ Jones, IMO. Max Redfield is a baller and the only thing holding him back is picking up all the mental stuff that comes with playing safety.

Thanks.

I've never been a premium subscriber to any site, but this ISD intel seems pretty awesome compared to the rest, IMO. Combines both football and recruiting.

Thanks for the update LAX. In the tweet they mentioned something about a new RB in the picture?

The TJ/Will comparison is exactly on par with what I was thinking during camp. Seems like some really talented guys are ahead of him on the depth chart, but he's still a player. When TJ leaves, that role should be his for the taking, imo. Has a lot to do with running great routes.

Not surprised at all to hear this about Max. I hope he and Shu can pick up the mental part as the season progresses. What a combo that would be.

That's a dirty word in the wrestling world. Wrestling only gets 9.9 total, and the starting lineup is 10.

And those schollies usually get divided up so a full ride is not the norm even for a three time state champion.

I think Will is more athletic than TJ and has a higher ceiling.

But I think Tori has an even higher ceiling than Will if he can get to 100%.

Bk the other day compared Will to Brown. Basically he is one the fastest guys on the team that can take the top off the defense.

BK has done much better than Weis of getting speed on the field.

Remember opening game of 2008, when Theo was returning the opening kick and Tom Hammond said that Weis had said #32 was the fastest player on the team?

That guy ran a 4.66 at the combine. We've come a long ways in the speed category to say the least.

I remember it so well I know it was 2009 haha
