I looked at the coaching stats for the current crowd having at least ten seasons. I'd say that college football has about 10 coaches who might reasonably be called proven outstanding [I don't even know what the term "elite" would mean in this context.] In my opinion, our coach is in the top half of those.
There are some persons who say that there are only two, or even one, such admirable coach --- despite one of them not running Zeke Elliot at the goal line in the most important game, and hardly running him at all, and the other consistently having trouble creating excellent QB play year after year, despite being able to recruit anyone he wants to. Yep, those guys are perfect.
.... we will NEVER get the mass-posters of IE to agree that we have one of the absolute best coaches in the nation no matter how many aspects of running a program he takes from mediocrity to lofty heights. Just like we'll never stop ragging on certain standing whipping boy issues with ND football --- giving the OLine he!l and Coach Harry less than an A grade was the nadir for me ... smh incredible.
