I'll be happy to run it again or at least contribute. If we're updating vBulletin software I know there's options for private boards that require stipulations for access, either mod approval or x number of posts, or both.

True story: a few years ago the Texas football forum Shaggy Bevo went under because they were basically leasing their server on the side with another business sharing the same server. Due to some personal conflict with the guy running Shaggy Bevo the owner of the server took them to court for ownership of the Shaggy Bevo site. I don't remember the details, but somehow the guy won the case and the Shaggy Bevo owner lost control of the site.

In the actual court case though a lawyer asked the Shaggy Bevo owner what he thought the site was worth. The owner had a rough guess, but the lawyer referred him to a Reddit AMA that he did where a poster asked him the same question, to which he replied "Bout tree fiddy." Obvious reference to South Park. No lie, the lawyer did not get the reference and was trying to make a case that the site was worth $350,000. The Shaggy Bevo owner laughed his ass off in court. In the end they ended up making the new site "Surly Texas" and the old posters on Shaggy Bevo basically destroyed the site on their way out by posting scat porn and dick picks. It got cleaned up, but the only person that still posts on the old site is some new Mod that just talks to himself.

The site has been moved to a new server but we are going to wait to update the vbulletin software. Once the server is stable we will upgrade the forum. There were some compatibility issues between the server and the outdated version of vbulletin, but those have hopefully been taken care of.

I've done that dance before. There's a reason you stay fairly current. I'm sure Sherm Sticky can attest to that as well.
