Aaron apparently only enjoy "films", not low-brow movies.

"Kubrick or gtfo"
Honestly I guess I just lack the imagination...

Legitimately curious where you find conversations about X2 other than this thread. I feel like everyone has forgotten about that trilogy entirely. The general consensus is that 1 was passable, 2 was amazing, 3 was terrible. I don't ever see anyone ever talking about it though.
Also curious where you see glowing retrospectives about the Raimi Spiderman trilogy. The only people I ever see bringing up the McGuire movies are either loving them ironically or straight up making fun of them.

The Dark Knight might be the most overrated movie of all time. It's not even the best movie in its trilogy.Reddit.
In /r/movies or /r/comicbookmovies people always bring up X2 and Spiderman 2 when the topic of best superhero movies comes up. Even having the gall to mention them in the same breath as the Dark Knight.
I think both were good for when they came out, but don't hold up at all. Just way too cheesy. I think the new Day of Futures Past era X-Men movies are better than those original 3, and even these new ones are kind of middle of the pack in terms of modern comic book movies.
Sam Raimi's trilogy is better than the Garfield crap (Emma Stone was just as bad as Dunst). The Homecoming MCU Spidey will easily crush both earlier versions though.

This guy gets it.1. Batman Begins - it’s a legitimate masterful film
2. Dark Knight - really, really good, but people overvalue the film because of Ledger. He was AMAZING as the Joker, though. Really wonder what could have been had he shown up later.
3. Dark Knight Rises - good the first time, Tom Hardy as Bane is cool, but it’s honestly kind of a slog

Now do the plot holes and inconsistent character motivations.Batman Begins is great. It's probably the best origin story of any of the comic book movies, or a close 1b to Iron Man. But it does suffer from the same issues that plague almost every origin story. The villain is super underwritten because so much of the movie is devoted to introducing the protagonists and giving their backstory. How many people could name Raś Al Ghoul off the top of their head? Almost no one because he's largely forgettable. He wants to cull the population of Gotham for........ reasons? He's fine and serves his purpose, but is not memorable at all. Same story with Iron Man 1. Really all 3 Iron Man films to be honest. Warmonger is only a villain for the climax of the movie.
Contrast that with the Dark Knight which has the most memorable villain of all time in the Joker. Ledgers performance was perfection. TDK also has Two Face, who is probably a top 10 comic book movie villain in his own right. The action in TDK is better. The set pieces are better (bank heist, hospital bombing, joker transport, hostage takedown). The stakes feel more real because you actually care about the fate of Harvey and Rachel. It's got the best detective version of Batman we've ever seen on screen.
The Dark Knight is a masterpiece.

Ledger gave a great performance in a mediocre film. Then he died and it became a legendary performance in an amazing film. I'm reality, it's a convoluted mess.
Watch it again now that you're a big boy. You'll be shocked how many times you find yourself saying "wait... but why?"In reality it was a great film and a legendary performance

Probably The Avengers, but that's beside the point. I'm not saying The Dark Knight is trash or that other comic book movies are flawless in comparison, I'm just staying the jock-riding from Nolan fanboys is completely disproportionate relative to the quality of the movie. Every movie is flawed, but TDK's flaws go completely ignored. What is your favorite comic movie?

The Dark Knight Rises is legitimately terrible.
Agree on the last part, that was the only comic series I got heavily into,... and I left DKR about as letdown as I was when I saw any Star Wars movie after Empire.

I misspoke on the fanboy comment. It's not Nolan fanboys that are the problem, it's Ledger fanboys.I could just keep going on and on. Is the Academy also filled with Nolan fanboys? To this day TDK still has the record for most nominations by a comic book movie. It also has the lone nomination for any acting role in a comic book movie, as well as the only win.
So either all of these people are overlooking the movie being a convoluted mess, or your confusing plot holes with plot conveniences and referring to a bunch of CinemaSins type nitpicks.

The plot is a hackneyed mess. Every scene is like an essay prompt in a first year community college philosophy class.

That's basically my take.
So, you want it to be funny?
The entire article is complaining about the lack of laughs and how Batman is too serious.
imo, Two Face wasn't unnecessary, but it should have stopped at introducing him and leaving him for the third film.

Honestly, I tried rewatching Black Panther last week and couldn't. Vs Ant Man and the Wasp, which I had no problem rewatching.
Cap Marvel: I'm glad they did something different with Ben Mendelsohn. Excellent casting choice

So the post credit scene will 100% be something aquired in the merger right?
What are our bets? I'm thinking F4. It's too close to the release of Dark PHoenix for them to set up their X-Men universe already. They won't want to confuse even more general audiences. F4 has nothing going on right now anyways.
Maybe Dr Doom? That wouldn't even require an actor if done right.
