Completely forgot the name of this thread and was looking all over for it.

Anyways, based off a friend's recommendation, I checked out WandaVision. 10 minutes into the first episode and I'm completely over the whole "50's sitcom trope but with these weird comic book characters!" It just seemed very low effort to me, and is only novel enough for about the length of a skit. And that's basically the first 2 episodes, with only slight hints at the overarching stuff, coming at the end of the two episodes.

Not feeling it. I didn't dislike either character going into this, but didn't feel like they're strong enough for their own show. And these first 2 episodes have only reinforced that feeling, if anything.

I’m unsure how these “tv” shows will work to tie into the movie MCU but I’m definitely interested. I’ve watched both episodes twice now and there is really a ton of references and a ton of stuff that is off or out of place I believe it is intentional and there will be a payoff in the end. Literally every line of dialogue is weird but it is lending to a much larger concept. Agness made a couple references to the devil (Mephisto?). The children references but there are no kids.

I don’t know if it’s Wanda that is doing it or someone else making her do it but I’m still interested for now.

I'm more of a DC guy so I don't have as much knowledge of the Marvel deep cuts. Pretty crazy to watch breakdowns of the first two episodes and seeing just how many Easter eggs they were able to cram in.

My son has, since he could walk, been obsessed with Godzilla, Kong, Kaijus (Pacific Rim). When he was9 years old Shin Godzilla came out and it was released in limited theaters across the country, one of which was a theater 30 miles away. I took him on a school night (last showing on thelast night it was on). He still thanks me for taking him. Its one of those things he may never forget.

There's apparently a glimpse of Mechagodzilla too, almost immediately, so it seems Kong and Godzilla will have a "winner" where "one will fall"... but then I'm assuming the loser is revitalized somehow, based on the necessity of teaming up to defeat Mechagodzilla.

I have been rewatching some of the less-heralded MCU movies on Disney+...

EXTREMELY HOT TAKE:

Thor: The Dark World is generally considered one of the worst MCU movies, and in the scope of “first time viewing experience,” it IS probably one of the weaker installments.

However, it’s still a pretty good movie, and actually gets a huge boost in quality upon a rewatch. You get a much greater appreciation for Loki’s character arc that picks up in this movie when you already know how things turn out.

And the big twist that Loki was posing as Oden in the end, which seemed kind of unrealistic at the time, is a much better plot point/cliffhanger when you have seen Thor: Ragnarok and know what kind of ruler he ends up being (not a bad one; maybe too full of himself; causes no trouble and really invests in the public arts sector, which is nice).

I think mostly the movie got a bed rep because the bad guys were lame, soft as hell, and got no buildup besides a brief fairytale.

Imo this series set up no less than five large story lines:

Her becoming the Scarlett Witch and getting hold of the Darkhold and learning who she actually is will set up DS2 and ALL the multiverse theory and magical use theory we havent seen or been exposed to yet. I think DS2 will be DS trying to help Wanda and stop her from destroying all the realities. Also see Loki series with the Time Variance Authority.

NIck Fury and Monica Rambeau/Skrulls - Secret Invasion.

Wiccan and Speed - Shards of Mephisto>>> Young Avengers

Spidder Man/DS multiverse cross overs

Xmen - she was a mutant who already had powers. Mind stone enhanced them.

This was a pretty important series. To kick off everything they are setting up.

Also they essentially showed her to be a a Nexus being (The antidepressant commercial in episode 6?) A nexus being in the MCU is a being/entity in which all realities flow through. Her and Kang the Conqueror are two such beings.

Now that I think about it.... with all the witch stuff... they gave us different colors of magic which I believe tells where they get their magic from. DS's magic is orange mostly 9 where this comes from has not been explained but in comics DS draws energy from other dimenions to use magic ( Ancient one mentioned this in DS1). Agatha's and Caisillius' was purple (Dark DImension-Dormomu), Agatha's mother (coven) and Wiccan's was blue (Not sure where this comes from), Wanda's was red (chaos magic from Chthon). Also Dr. Doom smother was a witch too...I hope they give us the back story and do Dr. Doom right. His whole reason for existing is to save his mother (witch).

Absolutely not. There wasn't really supposed to be a resolution. It's an ongoing story. She's being set up as a villain for Dr Strange 2 but I believe she won't be a full on villain.
