USC is capable of doing both. This isn’t Auburn or Louisville we’re talking about.

Dino Babers. He’s the guy.
But, definitely USC, go hire Jack Del Rio..

I don't know anything about the particulars but would Babers carry any of the Briles era Baylor stink with him?

He's been a head coach for 7 years now. I think he's safe at this point.

People mentioned Les getting back in it. I wonder if he would want to go anywhere other than the SEC/South?

Doubt it. Citrus is a natural cleanser.

Honestly, I think if he were hired people wouldn't make that connection. He would be 4 times removed from there with no bad history at his last 3 stops.

I was wondering the same thing, but I hear he's gotten back into his groundskeeping game.

I'd hate to see Dino or Leach go to USC. I love Leach. Hope he stays somewhere that I can still halfway cheer for him. Dino would be a good get. I can picture him at FSU too.

Babers will be somewhere better than Syracuse before FSU is ready to move on from Taggert though.

Agree. But the boo birds are definitely out at FSU. WT is just not that good. He's got enough talent to win more than he has. I know they have holes, but the team just has not responded well to him. He's got an 85% buy out (orig contract 6 year/30M) which will keep him there for probably a few more years. Wonder how their recruiting class is holding up.

I didn't know Babers is 57.

I was surprised a couple years ago he only got the Syracuse job from Bowling Green- thought he would have gotten a bit better of one.

Black don't crack.

I would have guessed late 40's.

he'd be a bad hire for kansas nevermind USC

I think the SC AD wants a clean program more than winning which is why Helton will stay

Didn't Helton get an extension this year? If they don't keep Helton, I'd love for DelRio to coach USC. He's not a good HC.

He must have something else other than his record pissing off the administration. When's the last time Colorado was even remotely relevant?

Sanford is coaching for his job per different reports. Apparently needs to win the last two games of the year to keep it.

Since Barnett got the ax (and he deserved it), they have had only 1 season with a winning record (2016) and one season above .500 in conference (2016). They have been just awful since joining the Pac12. But honestly, outside of 2016, his record has been no different than the last two coaches.

Still, they have the chance for a 7-5 season with wins over Utah and Cal. Plus MacIntyre is in year 2 of a 5 year deal.

It does seem like there is more than on-field performance going on here.

And he had an absolute sleeper class with @ 10 guys who are ND offer worthy.

Yes, but they are 0-5 in the last 5 including blowing a 31-3 lead to the beav's. It's one of those fine lines, where success breads expectations. He is by no means under-performing based on recent CU history, so something else may very well be going on.

There are conflicting reports too BTW. Sounds like this is either 1) completely false or 2) leaked well before anyone was prepared. Either way, this will be fun to track.

He came under fire in 2017 for not reporting an abuse issue by one of his assistants (sound familiar? lol). His contract states he can be terminated for not reporting this. I have no idea if this has anything to do with it, but I guess it could be used as support for firing him over a crappy record.

Rich Rod was in T Town recently. Maybe Saban is expecting Locksley to get a HC offer somewhere soon. I could see D. Enos moving to OC and Rich Rod backfilling his position. On a side note - ole Rich Rod isn't Joey Freshwater but the coeds at Innesfree better be on guard.

Colorado broke my heart a couple of times back in the 90’s. It seems some promising coaches have taken that job over the years and never lived up to expectations. I can think of the guy that originally made Northwestern relevant again and the guy from Boise.

Skeptical, since it's Dakich, but he likely heard it from a good source and immediately put it on Twitter, while the regular CFB beat was sitting on the news while fact checking, and as a favor to both Purdue and Louisville athletic depts.

I'd imagine the usual reporters are verifying and checking with their sources to see if they should keep silent or go ahead and confirm.

I... don't really think it's really lateral... Louisville has shown the ability to make waves. Purdue aside from the Brees era, has been a doormat for decades.

ACC = Clemson will be his daddy
BIG West = playing for immediate championships

huh?? When did this ever happen? I would put money on Dabo leaving and Clemson taking a step back long before Purdue being a yearly contender for anything...

Louisville was competing for an ACC championship two years ago, and was a few plays away from getting there against Clemson.

Brohm had Purdue on the right track, but he'd still be dealing with Wisconsin, Iowa, and likely Scott Frost's Nebraska team every year.

At Louisville, he's a Nick Saban retirement away from being in the mix every year.

Just IMO, based on recent history. Louisville's ceiling is proven, while Purdue's potential in the B1G West is projection.

Dabo has been at Clemson for 15 years or so now.

I wouldn't be so sure he'd leave Clemson for Alabama...
1) Alabama would probably drop off, making Clemson #1 (why leave if you're the best team?)
2) Clemson is in a much easier conference.

Not saying he wouldn't go back, but there's some things to consider.
