Does that mean we play Clemson two times? At home and in the championship game?
And if we split and both go undefeated the rest of the way, do we both get in the playoff?
Especially if both games are hard fought and close.

Hmm, that would certainly get the haters hating.

Wouldn't it depend on which division we get slated into (which I am sure it would not be the same division as Clemson)? If we beat Clemson and are in the same division then we make the ACC championship over them (assuming we both win out the rest of the games).

I believe ACC teams play each team in their division (6) plus two from the other division. If memory serves, ND schedule, as it stands now, now is three from each division.

If we played in the Coastal, we would end up playing Va and Va Tech three years in a row.

i thought there was mention that the divisions as they currently stood would get scrapped for the season

I don't like this and i do believe this is the beginning of the end for us being independent.

I don't see how you can draw that conclusion. This is a strange year for every team in the country, not just ND as an independent. Swarbrick did exactly what he had to do to ensure that if football is played, ND will have a full slate this fall, and graciously accepted the ACC's lifeline.

It's a win-win for the ACC. They get a meaningful conference member for at least one year guaranteed, and still get a minimum of five marquee games a year on the other end of this football season.

I don't see ND joining a conference until "super conferences" are formed. If/when that happens, they will have no choice. But for now, we will be fine.

...and the ACC is sharing its ESPN revenue with Notre Dame.

Thank you! I was wondering about that since we obviously don't get paid as a conference member..Football. I'm sure It will benefit us...?

https://www.espn.com/college-footba...-notre-dame-fighting-irish-football-deal-2025

https://www.https://www.espn.com/co...12-revenue-7-acc-slightly-2018-19-fiscal-year

According to these two articles we would make more money. If they are true.

We get 15 million plus 7 million from the acc. So that's 22 million.

The article above says the schools averaged 29 million. If we have to share that 15 million every team only gets a million dollars. So that would put us at 30 million before the under armor deal.

Does this fulfill the clause that ND must join the ACC if they join a conference? Because it'd be nice to suit other conferences when the time comes to demand more concessions from the ACC.

The new ACC championship game will be Notre Dame vs the top ranked conference opponent each year.
