I'd like the conflicting info if you can provide it, because what I posted is what's being routinely reported.
Your OP is generally correct, it's probably pretty close to flat.

The reason it's not a huge financial win for ND is twofold.

1. The "ND would make way more money in the ACC than with NBC" is predicated on the assumption that an ACC TV deal that included ND football would be worth much more than an ACC deal without ND football. ND is getting a share of an ACC TV deal that was negotiated without ND football.

2. ND is already getting a share of the ACC deal because of their non-football sports.

Gotcha. That makes sense.

I don't know if it's been mentioned already, but will the Irish be eligible for All-ACC teams at the end of the year?

Yeah...lol ND should totally give up being a part of every basic TV package in America.

Notre Dame and NBC is an American institution at this point. I don't see a reason to give up a big part of what makes ND who they are unless there is some markedly better way to do move forward.

I do think this is the second beginning of the end of Notre Dame independence (the first being the O.G. agreement with the ACC).

It's Been awhile... Staind like..... Since I have agreed with you. Feels good.

Will the players have to go to classrooms with all of the other students this fall? Eat at the same places, etc? Can the to computer or televised classes?

This might be a special situation where athletes should be separated from the rest of the student body. If not, then it's only a matter of time before this spreads through the team and trainers like a wild fire.

Yep, you would think that would be a rule that could/should be relaxed for a year or two.

He showed last year his disdain for furthering his knowledge of the game. Let's hope he didn't grow up yet.

Lawrence? How?

He lost his second game ever in his last game and probably played his worst game ever. It will be good to see how he responds.

Well it sure as shit doesn't work against us.

Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using Tapatalk

Yep and if no one knows raw numbers hard to say who is or isn't correct. The real fact of the matter is Jack worked something out for ND the in no way could be seen as a negative.

I'm sure Jack and the boys are pretty happy with "pretty likely" revenue increase plus a guaranteed schedule and a shot at an ACC championship in season where our schedule was in limbo.

Related to schedule - ticket office just emailed me saying they are pausing all payments on season tickets as the schedule and attendance/capacity is unknown.

Did the email mention what they will do with those of us that already paid? I heard they would refund us but I haven't seen anything confirming that yet.

I received my refund for the Wisconsin tickets this week. I've paid 2/3 installments. I don't think they are refunding season tickets until they have definitive answers.

So honestly, what is the point of the NBC/ND relationship? Less exposure, terrible broadcasts, etc. Please ND, join a conference and get rid of this NBC contract!

Hell no. ND is traditional and values its rivalries with USC, Stanford and Navy. They need a national schedule to recruit nationally. Giving that up to join a shitty ACC would just make ND a "regional" school and make it harder than it already is for ND to recruit.

The juice ain't worth the squeeze.

Do team in conferences play 8 conference games and 4 OOC? Or is it 9/3 I can never remember.

Hi. We Are ND!

Less exposure? I'm confused...
The reason we might not get the exposure that a Clemson/ Alabama/ OSU gets isn't because of our NBC contract. It's because god and country have been taken out of schools and ESPN knows that.
If ESPN would give us the same exposure they did 20 years ago before Willingham's debacle we would be fine today... Penn State gets more exposure than we do on that network, and they literally did the devil's work. It's amazingly Terrible for all.

Nearly Two Centuries In The Making: Guinness, The Brewing Irish, Are Partnering With The Fighting Irish Of The University Of Notre Dame

SOUTH BEND, Ind., Aug. 12, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- While this may not be the launch moment we planned for, when a partnership nearly two centuries in the making comes together, it's a reminder that history's best teams are built over time. Guinness is proud to announce it is now a partner and Official Beer of Notre Dame Fighting Irish Alumni and Fans, a group that numbers well over 40 million across the U.S. Our seven-year partnership will unite two Irish institutions and bring to life new traditions, like raising a Guinness toast to honor the Irish faithful – whether you're Irish by blood or in spirit. Saw that yesterday. Feels a little weird given the fact Joe has had a sketchy history with the university the last 10 years. He seemed rather PO'd that Nate didn't get the reigns and turn into an All American. Had an axe to grind against the university at times it seemed. He was also pretty critical of Rudy, deciding to take him down a peg for whatever reason and claimed he was carried off the field as a joke (Other players refuted this). The movie may have taken some Hollywood liberties, but the message was still solid and Joe's BS tarnished that a bit.

In somewhat related news, it looks like some website is hawking unlicensed ND merchandise and using Joe's likeness to sell it on Facebook:

I think the partnership with Guinness is the start of something. I wouldn't be surprised if they started selling beer at football games. Partnering with a beer company and not selling it at sporting events doesn't make much sense to me.

I'll have to look for that at the store though. That's a pretty cool case of beer.

Lol that’s hilarious. And they could only get a picture of Manti in an NFL Jersey lol. That is some fine bootleggery work.

Perhaps the gold helmet is somewhat trademarked on ND related apparel?

That, or the guy that does their marketing imagery is pretty dense...he did a real bang up job Photoshoppin' Joe's head on some other guy's body too.

What about the "block monogram ND"? One would think it has to be copyrighted already, right?
