This is not accurate.
I'd like the conflicting info if you can provide it, because what I posted is what's being routinely reported.

Your OP is generally correct, it's probably pretty close to flat.I'd like the conflicting info if you can provide it, because what I posted is what's being routinely reported.

The reason it's not a huge financial win for ND is twofold.
1. The "ND would make way more money in the ACC than with NBC" is predicated on the assumption that an ACC TV deal that included ND football would be worth much more than an ACC deal without ND football. ND is getting a share of an ACC TV deal that was negotiated without ND football.
2. ND is already getting a share of the ACC deal because of their non-football sports.
I think you're confused. This works in ND's favor.Because ND has to split the NBC revenue and it is a CRAP TON of money
Maybe, and if so, barely.I think you're confused. This works in ND's favor.
May want a Heisman to go with his Natty
Yeah...lol ND should totally give up being a part of every basic TV package in America.
Notre Dame and NBC is an American institution at this point. I don't see a reason to give up a big part of what makes ND who they are unless there is some markedly better way to do move forward.
I do think this is the second beginning of the end of Notre Dame independence (the first being the O.G. agreement with the ACC).
Will the players have to go to classrooms with all of the other students this fall? Eat at the same places, etc? Can the to computer or televised classes?
This might be a special situation where athletes should be separated from the rest of the student body. If not, then it's only a matter of time before this spreads through the team and trainers like a wild fire.
He showed last year his disdain for furthering his knowledge of the game. Let's hope he didn't grow up yet.
Well it sure as shit doesn't work against us.Maybe, and if so, barely.

I'm sure Jack and the boys are pretty happy with "pretty likely" revenue increase plus a guaranteed schedule and a shot at an ACC championship in season where our schedule was in limbo.
Related to schedule - ticket office just emailed me saying they are pausing all payments on season tickets as the schedule and attendance/capacity is unknown.
Did the email mention what they will do with those of us that already paid? I heard they would refund us but I haven't seen anything confirming that yet.
So honestly, what is the point of the NBC/ND relationship? Less exposure, terrible broadcasts, etc. Please ND, join a conference and get rid of this NBC contract!

SOUTH BEND, Ind., Aug. 12, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- While this may not be the launch moment we planned for, when a partnership nearly two centuries in the making comes together, it's a reminder that history's best teams are built over time. Guinness is proud to announce it is now a partner and Official Beer of Notre Dame Fighting Irish Alumni and Fans, a group that numbers well over 40 million across the U.S. Our seven-year partnership will unite two Irish institutions and bring to life new traditions, like raising a Guinness toast to honor the Irish faithful – whether you're Irish by blood or in spirit. Saw that yesterday. Feels a little weird given the fact Joe has had a sketchy history with the university the last 10 years. He seemed rather PO'd that Nate didn't get the reigns and turn into an All American. Had an axe to grind against the university at times it seemed. He was also pretty critical of Rudy, deciding to take him down a peg for whatever reason and claimed he was carried off the field as a joke (Other players refuted this). The movie may have taken some Hollywood liberties, but the message was still solid and Joe's BS tarnished that a bit.
In somewhat related news, it looks like some website is hawking unlicensed ND merchandise and using Joe's likeness to sell it on Facebook:

Blue helmet? How'd they miss that?

Perhaps the gold helmet is somewhat trademarked on ND related apparel?
