Didn't want to start a thread for this and didn't know where to put it so here you go. Top twitter coaches in the land.

Twitter isn’t a popularity contest, but if it were, Les Miles would be winning. Because he is as unfiltered on Twitter as in real life, he has the most followers of any BCS football coach.

Here are the head coaches in order of the number of followers each had as of Wednesday afternoon. Noticeably absent are Alabama’s Nick Saban, who isn’t on Twitter, and Oklahoma’s Bob Stoops, who has a private account used solely for recruiting. Another 33 coaches don’t use Twitter or aren’t active enough for their names to pop up in searches.

I almost never post on others' posts, so please forgive me, but my old professor's mind just went mildly schizo for a moment.

The quote above is "half are SEC"..... we have an 87 number list of teams/coaches. What can this comment mean? I felt like I'd slipped into a bizarre parallel quantum universe for a moment where all rules that I've counted on simply disappeared. ............

I tried to maintain touch with reality.... maybe just the top of the list. There it was eleven out of the first sixteen SEC. The strange parallel reality had shifted, but still left me in the cruel cold of numerical abandonment.

If I just took the top 22, then YES!!! It works!!! It also works at 24!!! But alas, never again throughout the seemingly endless deterioration of the senses to 87.

Maybe the list IS only 22 names long, and I am hallucinating seeing 65 more.

Yep. That must be it.

Whew.... reason restored.

NBC's Keith Arnold just published an article on the 2013 offense. I found the following tidbit especially interesting:

Lost in the embarrassing first half against Alabama was a pair of sneaky-good performances by two returning wide receivers facing a defense filled with NFL personnel. It might shock people who watched the game, but TJ Jones and Davaris Daniels had the best performance against the Alabama secondary of any receiving duo that faced the Crimson Tide.

Yep! Glad someone is recognizing how good our two returning starters are. I cringe everytime that I read how blah mediocre our receiving corps is --- JUST NOT SO!

TJ plus Davaris plus "big boy receivers" at TE and TE/slot are going to give us one of the more non-defendable receiver arrays around. We need Everett to make the throws and the OLine rightside to give him time to do it.

There are so many ways that different things could gel this season to turn this team into a marauding monster.

I like the next part even betta:

Daniels’ six catches for 115 yards was the second best individual effort against the Tide last season. TJ Jones’ seven catches for 90 yards was a really impressive outing for a rising senior that earned many of those yards the hard way.

It’s also part of why Brian Kelly feels pretty optimistic about the future of the offense. Here’s what Kelly said about Jones, who is poised to have a really impressive senior season and is likely emerging as one of the team’s true leaders.

“TJ Jones. Here’s a young man that has continuously gotten better year in and year out,” Kelly told Tim Brown a few weeks ago during the SiriusXM Town Hall meeting. “I just think he’s going to have a great year. I think he’s an elite player.”

(Emphasis added.)

I don't mean this as a slam! I am not anti any of these guys. But I think this is why we had such a flight of talent this year; as opposed to puting them down, I credit them for seeing the writing and making the hard choices.

I predicted that our defense would take a speed of light jump the year before last; everyone laughed, and I was a year early, sort of. This year I say we have a radio-active mutant zombie set of receivers that work as a killing machine. They will hurt people. We are going to have one of the most efficient offenses in the nation this year.

From Keiths desk.

Trio of unproven running backs should surprise | Inside the Irish

“I really like the fact that we’ve got a couple of guys at the running back position that have gone kind of under the radar that really could help us,” Kelly said. “Cam McDaniel is a guy that people dismiss right away. He’s 5-foot-9 and he doesn’t have the prototypical speed of the great backs, but god, he does everything. He does all the jobs that you want to win games.”

Ill be shocked if at least ONE back doesn't step back... It's a lot of unproven talent, but still too much of it for at least one guy not to step up...

ND Duo On Biletnikoff Watch List
TUESDAY, 16 JULY 2013 09:42 SEAN STIRES E-mail Print PDF
Daniels
T.J. Jones and DaVaris Daniels are the latest Notre Dame football players to find themselves on a preseason college football watch list. The Fighting Irish receivers are among 75 players who have been named to the 2013 Biletnikoff Award Watch List, which was released Tuesday by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club.

Jones, a senior from Roswell, GA, tied former Irish tight end Tyler Eifert with team-highs of 50 receptions and four touchdowns in 2012. He finished second to Eifert with 649 receiving yards. He had a season-best 97 yards in Notre Dame's 38-0 win over Wake Forest last November. Jones, who was previously on the 2012 Biletnikoff Watch List, also reeled-in seven catches for 90 yards in the BCS Championship Game against Alabama.

Daniels had 31 receptions for 490 yards in his first season of action in 2012. The Vernon Hills, Ill native sat out as a freshman in 2011, but played in 11 games with three starts last fall. His 15.8 yards-per-catch led all Irish receivers who had at least 10 receptions in 2012.

Daniels missed Notre Dame's final two regular season games against Wake Forest and USC after suffering a broken collarbone on Nov. 10 at Boston College. He returned to play in the BCS Championship Game and had six receptions for a career-high 115 yards against the Crimson Tide.

The Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation, Inc. will announce 10 Biletnikoff Award semifinalists on Nov. 18. Three finalists will be declared on Nov. 25. The winner will be announced on Dec. 12 at The Home Depot College Football Awards Show in Orlando, Fla.

The award is named for Pro and College Football Halls of Fame member Fred Biletnikoff. He starred with the Oakland Raiders from 1965-'78 after being drafted out of Florida State University.

Reigning Biletnikoff Award winner Marquise Lee of USC headlines the list of receivers on the 2013 watch list.

This is all opinion below so feel free to not listen to a word of it since I'm apparently the only one who feels this way:

no offense intended to anyone who did this or any highlight videos because I don't do them because I don't have talent and am lazy, BUT...

Am I the only one who doesn't like movies quotes/weird visual filters/distracting effects during my highlight videos?
I like rock/rap/maybe a movie soundtrack if appropriate in the background. If audio is needed besides background music make it one of three things: 1) press box commentating on the play 2) press talking bad about us before the game 3) a pump up speech that is related to Notre Dame ("We are ND" or Holtz's "respect" speech being wonderful examples.)

As an example here is my favorite Notre Dame highlight video ever. Simply showing the game (with some scene setting) and good editing is better IMO than flashy filters and movie callbacks. I mean sh*t this even made Charlie Weis look bad*ss.

+1

I hate any sort of distortion to the highlight (the green in the above). I would say only use a movie speech if it really makes sense (Al Pacino, Any Given Sunday) and don't flash a part of the actual movie just let let the audio play
