If they could just hire a certain other coach's dad as the Executive Director of Football Operations and rename Swarbrick AD of ACC Sports.

The ED of FO would report to Lou Holtz & Tom Mendoza, cutting Swarbrick, Jenkins and the BoT out of the loop. If a tie needed to be broken tween Lou and Tom, it would be handled by the Pope upon the spiritual guidance or St. Beano of Cooklia.

Posted by an ND fan though. I will never understand why we (a section of the fanbase) do this to ourselves.

Like, why would you create a circlejerk thread for every other fanbase. And I mean, EVERY other fanbase. It's not only our rivals who don't like us; people who root for random teams we've never played don't like us. It honestly makes it hard to post on r/CFB because the other larger fanbases are seemingly waiting to downvote or shit on ND and all its fans.

Wait. Is this actually happening?

Lou has a source that sounds like it's a real possibility. I haven't seen anything other that what Lou posted at BGI. And he usually doesn't venture into "rumors", so either he is trying to get out of his comfort zone/create excitement, or he's confident in his information. I'd side with the latter as he's said many times over he'd never do the other.

Damn. That'd be great news

So many self deprecating ND fans on that site. I'm convinced they do it for the karma. I post on there occasionally to defend against the circlejerk and it almost always ends in a solid -40.

Been there, done that.

I'm not even so pro-ND that I'm blind to everything else, but it certainly seems at times, that other fanbases are so anti-ND that you can hardly get a word out.

Reminds me of the old school ESPN boards days when all you had was the main board and any random fan could post in any other base's board. Being a Notre Dame fan there was, well, 'fun'.

It was dark and hell was hot.

The truth hurts.

Not ending that drought is the most damning failure of the Kellybrick era. But our AD just said that everything is fine, so I guess everything is fine.

And every major program has people who love it and people who hate it. People like to dance on the graves of OSU, Alabama, USC, etc., too. They don't give people as much to dance about.

Please don't use SC in that statement. Going back to the mid 80's SC has been the most poorly run college program in the country. Losing 3 games at SC is being .500 at most any other Tier 1 school. There is no excuse to not be AT LEAST 11-2 at SC every year.

YET

Somehow they manage to mess it up, time and time again. The only prolonged period of double digit wins was Pete the Cheat's era where he said F*** it and treated SC like the pro team they are. Amazing they escaped with only one year erased.

If Saban or Meyer were at SC, they'd never lose... and they wouldn't get caught either.

Do you remember the glory days of the ESPN board in the early 00's with Stevie, aka LSUoverUSC, El Texan, TechIceman, and all those other maniacs?

That board was the Wild West. When it got axed, they all went to Sports Hooplah and still continue their lunacy to this day last I checked.

So he is finishing his degree, then transferring. He isn't saving a year of eligibility by not playing this year, so why not just play this season? Seems kind of dumb to not even be a part of the roster if he is already staying with the school for a year. Has to be more to it.

He is loading up on classes. If he's taking 18/21 hours, he needs to stay on the books. ND is fine with that because the sooner he's gone, the sooner that scholarship opens. It's not like he was going to play or that ND is short on bodies. They have 8 safeties, 4 SS and 4 FS with DJ Morgan being moved back to SS from Rover.

I would imagine he quit football in order to take on a full course load this fall so he can graduate asap.

I think it is an issue of BK taking what he can get after whiffing on higher level recruits, those recruits being in the program and either not developing or simply being at their ceiling so they are unable to really contribute at a serious level.

I think all programs have this problem, just teams like Bama and OSU reload so fast that the fat walks and is replaced quickly by better while ND has to play with what is left over.

As you can see, these guys transfer out but always to D2 teams or lukewarm D1 teams because the better D1 teams dont want them. Which is reasonable since if they cant contribute at ND, which isnt a worldbeater, they wouldnt contribute much at their team either more than likely.

I challenge you to write down the list of transfers and see if they are always D II or lukewarm D I's.

The two biggest transfers of the Kelly era went to FSU and Florida at QB, both schools which have produced Heisman QB's in the last decade.

Who are the D II teams you are referring to? I'm drawing a blank right now.

Max is going DII to IUP.

Then you have a few going DI-AA or two Sunbelt/Conference USA teams recently as well.

Sorry not going to spend my time digging through pages of players who never saw play time at ND and I dont remember their names. I recall several players transferring to D2 and low D1 teams. White is one recently.

Golsen to FSU and the guy sat the pine for a better player. Such will be fate of Malik at Fl. These guys were depth fillers, not starters.

This is true. Good point. Great he's finishing his degree here at least.

And while we do have guys on the roster, I just felt it would have been better to have another veteran, and it isn't like his scholarship opening up now is going to help for next year when it would anyway, but I see the point about credits.

Also, has it been mentioned on when the Fall Camp schedule is being released or when Kelly's press conference will be? All I know so far is that they will be at Culver for a whole week this year.

Camp starts around Aug 1st i believe, so I would imagine Kelly's presser to be next Monday (7/31)? Just guessing.
