Ugh oh.Man people are so miserable. Sometimes I forget that we live in a world where a huge population of people just prefer to be angry than happy. It’s too bad that people are so worried about things not going the way they wanted and not actually just enjoying the magnitude of the show. First off, this is the most expensive television show ever made in the history of the world. I am in awe of some of the stuff they are able to accomplish from a CGI, props and set perspective as this is a massive scale production. I do think the show could’ve used an extra 3-4 hours (maybe 10 episodes instead of 6) to further elaborate the character’s arcs and things of that nature like Jamie leaving Brienne quickly and finding Cersei and dying so quickly but overall I think a lot of it has been well done. In episode 5 I really enjoyed the Clegane Bowl and thought it was an absolute fitting end to fall into the fire. Following Arya through the streets gave the audience perspective of the horror and devastation because had we not seen closely what Dany was doing we wouldn’t have hated what she did so much most likely. There’s plenty of instances where the offscreen deaths are forgotten and the audience forgives or just doesn’t mind as much but by seeing the children and women mostly being burned alive then you have that moral conundrum of seeing the good guys doing terrible things which is kind of what this whole show has had in it. Many moral dilemmas with very few purely good characters. I also think the show left itself many options with how they could finish and which directions they could go which is awesome to me because I’ll be surprised not matter what. I kind of suspected Dany turning evil in Episode 5 but I was very much in denial right up until she flew off that building to burn people. People are going to hate how it ends, want to sue D&D, say it’s a waste of time, the worst season ever, the worst ending, but I’m excited for the surprises to come next week and I think it’ll be exciting to find out who will sit on the iron throne in the end or if there will be one at the end.
