Are there still a lot of people living in tents after the hurricane?

There were plenty living in tents in Raleigh well before the hurricane. I am 3-4 hour drive from the mountains - that is a mythical area that knows what frozen precipitation looks like. Those crazy mofos actually manufacture the stuff in order to play in it! Holy shit I hope we have enough milk, eggs and bread to make french toast for another day or two.

Hardest part of the day was finding lines in the parking lot to properly park my truck - thought about doing donuts to clear some snow.

I drove through western NC last weekend. There are still tents set up on some properties but it seemed like most had campers or some temporary tiny homes set up to live in.

There was one stretch, right on the river, with 5- 7 tents set up. It was snowing as I went through there and you could see people gathered around a fire. It was tough to see.

Central Ohio, I’m at 9 feels like -7. When I got up today it was 5 felt like -14.

Thursday will be in the low 50s and rain.

Love this schizophrenic weather.

Woke up to 1 degree. Currently 7 with a high of 11. It’s not that often we get those temps in December. I’m already to be done with winter. Came too early this year.

I've been hovering in the teens with 8+ inches on the ground for a couple weeks now.
Worst part is it isn't even winter yet.

Brutal

Winter has definitely hit the Midwest hard this year already. Maybe the means we will have a mild January and February, I hope haha

Every long range forecast said it's going to be brutal north of St Louis this year. Below average temperatures and above average snow falls especially the lake effect. For those of you that are lucky enough to live around one of the great lakes.

Got 5+ inches overnight here in PA. Super beautiful last night driving through town. Same this morning while snow blowing. Going to get way down there tonight.

Trying to not leave the house again today, going to avoid the morning commute and work from home tomorrow. Would have been nice to have a white Xmas and maybe do ice fishing but by Thursday everything will melt

It’s in the 50s here and you’d think my wife’s family were dealing with -50,… it’s hysterical

I went out last night to find hot chocolate after shoveling/snow blowing the driveway. Wife was damn near out of gas and I didn't feel like making the drink myself, figured I'd kill two birds with one stone. I don't do coffee, so nothing hits like a hot cocoa after shoveling snow. Get to the gas station, their machine is out of milk. Lady comes over and spends 5 minutes refilling it. Hit the hot chocolate again, it puts out straight milk into the cup. Thing is busted.

I head out today to get my daily Sunday ritual of Hothead Burrito in Germantown, roads are pretty decent. Drive 15 minutes, place is closed despite the roads being pretty clear. I decide to head to the next closest Hothead which turns a 12 minute additional drive into a 25 minute adventure as Middletown did a shit job clearing their roads. It's another 25 minutes getting home.

They’ve recently opened a couple HotHead locations around here in NE Indiana. Not bad.

Here on the eastern shore of MD. We got a little over an inch of snow and the temps have gone done each hour. Going to be 5 with the wind chill in the morning.

Hopefully when I get back to Indiana in a week and a half there is still ice on the lakes....dying to do some fishing
You’re gonna be sad, my guy. Looking at 40s/50s by the end of the week and then possibly upper fiddys by Christmas.
