Kylian Mbappé is not a known fan of Notre Dame (the Fighting Irish college football team). However, he is deeply connected to Notre Dame de Paris, the historic cathedral in his home city.
Mbappé, along with other French footballers, publicly mourned the 2019 fire that damaged the cathedral. Following the tragedy, he and his former club, Paris Saint-Germain, wore special tribute jerseys featuring the landmark to honor the monument and raise restoration funds.

From this it can be concluded, if one likes, that he is a big Notre Dame football fan.

Good on Sweden for having a go. There is a lot of honour in coming to play the game in the right spirit.

Messi hates Notre Dame de Paris so I dislike him as well...not due to the fact that I like Real Madrid as well lol

Pocchetino is a big fan of the movie Miracle. Don't think for a second he hasn't memorized this speech in perfect English.

“Look, I can give you all a load of crap about how you’re a better team than they are, but that’s exactly what it would be. And everyone in this room knows what people are saying about our chances. I know it. You know it. But I also know there is a way to stay with this team. You don’t defend them — you attack them. You take their game and you shove it right back in their face. The team that is finally willing to do this is the team that has a chance to put them down. No one else will change their game. We will. The rest of the world is afraid of them. Boys, we won’t be."

Wow. This French team is good. Can anyone beat them?
No, I put 5k on them to win it all at the 85 min mark. I wish I did it before the game because the odds dropped big time. Anything can happen, but they are head and shoulders better than everyone.

If France does win it all that's gotta be one of the all time 3 cup runs, right? I'm not too well-versed in the history

If they win it, it will be the best run IMO, otherwise, not an all time run.. Brazil has won 2 out of 3 twice, Argentina and Italy once. Granted, Italy was the 1930s. Brazil's 1994-2002 run is better unless France wins.

Thanks, I knew some teams had gone on runs in the past but wasn't sure how France's current one would compare.

Brazil 2002 is one of the first teams I remember watching and what really got me into the sport outside of just playing it. Peak Ronaldo, emerging Ronaldinho, vintage Roberto Carlos. Just so many legends on that team
I wasn't alive to see the 1970 Brazil team. They are widely considered to be the greatest team ever among people who saw them and or historians of the game.

The 2002 Brazil team is probably that team for me in my lifetime.

England’s back line is playing super high up already. I wouldn’t be surprised if Congo steals another on the counter if England doesn’t equalize soon

This is the only time I would ever root for England given the current bracket,… of course they do that. I still have to believe they turn it around in the second
