Rimando terrifies me in goal, but from what I have seen of Yarbrough, Klinnsmann simply has him because he thinks Liga MX is superior to MLS... I have watched a couple of Yarbrough's club games. Each time he gave up over 4 goals. Obviously they were not all his fault, but still. I would take Hamid, Johnson, Clark, over him. Don't understand putting him in for Rimando

Jordan Morris!!! 1-0!

Bradley and then Morris forcing it through traffic and then cashing in was a thing of beauty.

I actually like Rimando... Watch him all the time, I like every name you mentioned but may take Nick over all of them... I am very optimistic about Hamid and Johnson moving forward tho...

Hamid will overtake Rimando in Klinnsy's eyes strictly for the fact that he is likely moving to Serie A in the summer.

This field is so effing brutal that it's almost not even soccer. I can't blame any player for messing up. What an embarrassment for US soccer.

Can't wait to see which tradition holds up: "Dos a cero" or USA conceding a late equalizer...

I was thinking the same thing. He's killing the Mexicans for having excuses for this potential loss...before they've even said any yet lol.

Ball is bouncing anywhere but where the players want it to go.... IMO, San Antonio is done, for good, hosting USMNT games... This is unreal... Honestly, why we EVER play Mexico anywhere near the border is beyond me... Seattle, Portland, New England, Chiago would all sell out...

You're right about the field, looks like an 'old time' ND spring game out there.

13 wins, 5 draws, 5 losses verse Mexico since 2000. If the US can beat them in the Gold Cup, I would venture to say that the USMNT owns Mexico.

Dos a cero! I made that my Facebook status last night, and I got a response from someone asking if I even watch soccer? (he is half Mexican from his dad's side) SO I guess he was a little upset they lost....

And to clarify I love watching soccer, especially when the USMNT are playing, and love watching the EPL. This year I'm making an effort to watch more MLS. It's tough sometimes trying to watch it, but it's getting better.

Jesus FC Bayern.

No Robben.
No Ribery.
No Schweinsteiger.
No Martinez.
No Alaba.
No f'ing problem.

Ran train on Porto. I was really nervous about the game today. 6-1 after the result they had against Porto last week was unexpected to say the least.

I feel comfortable saying... If Bayern is healthy.... Which is pretty much unheard of.... They are the best team in the world. Any team that has guys like Müller, Götze, Thiago, Martinez, etc. Not always guaranteed starters is amazing.

When Pep gets the tactics/ lineup/ formation right, they're unbeatable. He was brilliant today; put Bayern in the perfect position to exploit their superior physicality and range.

But he's constantly outsmarting himself. Here's hoping he doesn't try to get cute against any future CL opponents.

What a game. I mean, 5-0 in the first half?? Crazy.

Oh yeah. The Spanish giants are the only ones even close.

I would love to see a Barca/Bayern UCL final. It's just a joy to watch Barca's big 3.

Case in point: Suarez's second goal last week. That nutmeg followed by the cheekiness to go upper 90 rather than tap it in to a wide open net ... just ridiculous. He may be a serial biter but he is a footballing wizard.

Bayern is unstoppable at home, but their performance in the last two road legs should be concerning. If they play flat on the road against one of the Spanish teams or Juventus, they may not be able to make up a 2-3 goal deficit at home against these teams that are far superior to Shaktar and Porto.

On a side note, Jackson Martinez has to be moving to one of the powers this summer, no? He has been beasting it all year and was the only player that belonged on the field with Bayern yesterday.

I gotta be honest, I was really friggin nervous before the game yesterday. So many injuries...

Yeah, that went away after about 15-20 minutes. Lewa is the best striker on the planet. No Robbery? No Alaba? Well, you still have Thomas Muller. You still have Goetze. Thiago is hungry. Xabi Alonso scored, ffs and it was an amazing goal.

No place like home.

i fancied them to win (wish i had put money on it). Porto had their two starting center backs suspended and Bayern were always gonna come out guns blazing. English teams used to do this for decades where they would play crappy in the first leg away and then come out and destroy the opposition at home even if they were 2/3 goals down

Arsenal still do it... Albeit they have to do it away instead of at home since they consistently give up too many goals in the first leg home... Sigh.

they were terrible when they moved to the emirates stadium at first. highbury was a real fortress so tight and the fans so close to the pitch. I guess they have found their groove a little bit more and the team gets truly comfortable with the new stadium.

Irish National team had the same issue where the Old Lansdowne stadium was crumbling and an eyesore but it was a hard place for visiting teams to come and play. then we built the Aviva and its super modern and fancy but it cant generate the same atmosphere as the old stadium

Arsenal is in great form right now. I think they'd have beaten Monaco if the matches were played this week. They are just firing on all cylinders. It's too bad it's so late in the season.

I only became a fan of Arsenal (and soccer in general for that matter) in 2010. I read a lot about the history at Highbury and it sounds amazing. I then read about how dull games felt at the Emirates and that it just lacked atmosphere. Glad it's all starting to take shape, especially since they have Arsenalized the stadium a little more, and are producing on the pitch.

I agree. It comes down to injuries and stupid ties/loses early on. Bringing Gabriel in has really helped provide support for the back line, and I think he will be a major contributor going forward. Enough can't be said about the surprise form of Coquelin and Bellerin in the second half either. I expected more out of Welbeck this year, but I think he can still provide a spark next year.
