If you look at the ND roster on the leak websites there is a decent amount of non NIL fake players. I tried to sift through the roster for OD advantage purposes but gave up eventually realizing I’m sure it’s out of date and incomplete

He had 1300 yards and 16 touchdowns as a freshman. He's also big and fast. I dont know what his overall should be necessarily but he should probably be among the best receivers in the game.

He also might not have had a huge day against Notre Dame because he didn't have to. Everyone was getting open.

Oh, he's absolutely one of the best WR this coming season if not the best WR, no question. The best player in ALL of college football...as a sophomore? Where does he go from here? I would have put him in the mid 90s.

We’re #8 on offense.

The game freaking loves LSU. #6 O and #8 D with #1 Stadium

Yeah I’m not sure how you’re getting Bama as the #1 defense by a decent margin. That means they are juicing a ton of their true sophomores ratings

Why is Bama getting so much hype this year? I get that they'll probably rebound but I don't understand why they're getting more love than UGA or OSU when it feel like they have the same questions.
People still expect the Saban era of success. DeBoer may be a good coach but I think they are in for a rude awakening. The leveling of the playing field by the portal and widespread NIL is really going to work against them.

I suspect they are giving too much weight to certain real-world recruiting sites and reported measurables, or perhaps trying to do their own version of Madden ratings and going “outside the box” to be “realistic”

No reason ND should be behind some of those schools if people are actually doing homework the way they do with Madden ratings.

Keon Keeley is an 82 while KVA is an 80. Hopefully some of these rankings outside the top 100 or so are placeholder rankings while they finish the game.

For reference, even if this was pre David Bailey, Texas Tech was 55 in SP+ defense in Connelly’s spring release.

I will guess the folks at EA will give certain programs every opportunity to justify their ratings.

Michigan seems too high too, being put on par with Ohio State after Michigan returned to mediocrity following the cheating scandal being exposed. We know Michigan has fans within EA that are high up on the food chain.

Isn't that pretty normal though?

I know when I played a lot of NCAA and FIFA there was a lot of false parity put in the game for (I assume) commercial and multiplayer reasons. Plus they can always do updates if teams end up being trash.

I dont view the EA games as simulators akin to Football Manager or whatever.

Is it pretty normal for Michigan to be mediocre? Absolutely.

But to answer your question, yeah, I'm guessing since Michigan has a large alumni base EA wants them to be better than they should be so they sell copies.

Thienemann may have transferred to Oregon, but his jockstrap is still somewhere on Twyckenham.

I’d make the argument to put Shuler on this list

Seems odd to me to transfer to Oregon. I think I'd have stayed put at Purdue or at least somewhere nearby. Would be a shame to move across the country for your first draft eligible season and not adjust well.
