Racist.
know thyself
Racist.
Some of that is just genetic... let's be real, there are exceptions but our African American brothers and sisters tend to just age better than our Anglo ones....
Yeah - but you still make that call if you are Swarbrick. Convince someone like that they are the missing cog to a title run ....
Strong likely out at UT by the end of the season, per Pete Thamel.
No doubt UT will double its efforts to keep Houston out of the Big 12 so as to avoid giving Herman an incentive to stay. From what I've heard about Herman -how much he likes Texas, etc.- he would probably go to UT if given the choice between UT, USC, and LSU.
This is insane and Texas absolutely deserves everything they get. Strong had to turn the program upside down, 70% of their roster is freshmen and sophomores, he has a freshman QB, and they're 2-2. Does the defense need to improve? Sure, but the talk of firing him now is straight dumb.
I don't know dude, down here the clock is running out on Strong. In many aspects he could've been axed last year, but had improbable wins vs OU and Baylor that saved his job. Right now UT is 5th or 6th best team in the state (Houston, TAMU, Baylor, TCU, TT....), and he still has OU, BU, TT, TCU to play. Lots of fans and boosters have seen enough, and if Hermann is ready to roll they'll throw the kitchen sink at him.
Also, don't see Strong at ND.

Easy there homie. All I'm saying is the guy has been a very good coach with average talent at Houston. He could be a great coach with more resources.
It's all about getting Herman -- who thanks to Strong's recruiting will probably do very well, and unfortunately for Strong, he'll go down as having the worst record ever in Texas football history.

Careful. That's our next DC.
I agree that Herman is Texas bound.
Rumors say Herman wants Texas. Questions:
1) Can Strong do enough this season to save his job?
2) If Texas fires Strong, who else (USC, LSU, etc) will be in the Herman sweepstakes?

I don't think he is, but if you want Strong to be our next DC, you better sell the hell out of the idea that he can't HC at a big time program because he wasn't even as good as Mack was at his worst, otherwise, Strong will be a HC at a mid-major this time next year.
Strong will get better than a mid-major job. (What is the definition of mid-major in football being it's a basketball term)
He did great at Louisville, he's part of Holtz/Meyer and Spurrier coaching trees, he's black. He'd get a good job, he might have to broadcast for a year or fill in at the right school as DC for a year.
I could see Schiano taking another HC job and Strong going to Columbus for a year if he doesn't like what's available this year... or a scenario like that at a Top program.
He could go to the NFL.
No doubt he'll get another good job if he wants it.
I don't see Strong at ND either. When I said Texas deserves what it gets, I mainly meant the dozens of boosters with big wallets who are so arrogant that they want to be involved with coaching decisions. Chances are the majority of whom have never touched a football, let alone played or coached football.

Still my all time favorite.
Red McCombs is one of the more vocal well healed boosters, ex owner of Vikings and I also think the San Antonio Gunslingers(WFL?). He wasn't a big fan of Strong being hired, wanted Saban and let everyone know about it. Has openly stated that "you can fire a coach midseason". Really believe Strong is on the way out, no matter what.
Many think the Herman sweepstakes will end if Texas loses to OU. As far as LSU... it appears that Jimbo is still the first choice for the big money donors with Briles also in the hunt... if he clears the NCAA. Some interesting names being thrown around as darkhorse candidates. Mike Gundy, Jeff Brohm, and DJ Durkin. Can't see any of those three being realistic however.
