I heard about Coleman as a possibility any other suggestions or possibilities?

If Love wasn't so awesome at DB he would be great imo.

Isn't Wimbush heavier than Adams and stockier? I think he is a shiftier runner but might not have the banger mentality.

I suppose the Justin Brent experiment is out of the question.....

BTW how did he do after he moved on?

If someone needs to cross-train, I would think about Jafar Armstrong, based on his build and the fact that he wouldn't not disturb the current depth chart.

No idea how he runs, which is kinda important!

How about we offer Tariq Bracy's brother TyRee a spot as a PWO and put him at RB? He had some pretty nice runs on his highlights, he can also play QB and FS so he has practice squad versatility, and he doesn't mess up any of the scholarship numbers. From watching his film I honestly don't know how he doesn't have an offer from anyone, but last I heard he was only getting PWO offers.

Still confused about the chances CJ and McIntosh make it back. Especially CJ, as he was a potential RB1 for us.
If he can come back I’d just as soon go find a 5Y to fill in next year as needed. If not, I guess you have to convert someone currently on the team because depth is really gonna be thin in 2019 after Dex goes in the first round.
Did any of our younger/backup DBs play RB in high school? Maybe Paul Moala?

If we are looking for a grad transfer, Terence Williams from Baylor is looking to transfer for his final year. He didn't put up great numbers this year, but he had over 1000 yards rushing in 2016.

If I am Wimbush and do want a shot at an nfl career, I would proactively move to RB right now.

Another season like last he wouldn’t get a sniff at the arena football

Having a solid season as a P5 RB may get him drafted in the top 3-5 rounds.

Why would we not consider moving the most inaccurate quarterback in power 5 football positions?

Imagine dropping the most passes of all wide receivers, wouldn’t we naturally consider that person should not be a wide receiver?

Does Wimbush have any desire to be an RB? A lot of QBs go on to play LB, DB, WR, TE not that often RB though. HE would need a certain mentality. HE has the size though but his weight training regimen should change starting now! More Squats and BP.

Wimbush SHOULD consider a move to RB, for the good of the team AND his future. He had his shot under center as a junior - it is not his birthright. His best work was done tucking and running - his worst when forced to pass. What is with this insistence that we HAVE to accept the bad in order to get the good when there is a logical solution staring us in the face.

What do you think his chances are at being an NFL QB? What about an NFL RB/WR?

I don't think this is about his chances in the NFL... this is about whether his best position for ND is QB or something else.

If he figures out his confidence issues, eliminates the over-thinking, and makes standard season-to-season improvement with his mechanics, he's hands-down the best option at QB for ND.

The question is whether that happens or not. Either way, though, he's staying at QB for ND this season. Even if Book starts, Wimbush is the next best option, so he'll remain a QB.

It's not entirely about his chances at the NFL, but I don't think it's unreasonable to think that BW knows his long term future is not at QB. I don't see why those calling for an elite athlete/brutally awful passer to move to a a position that both suits him long term and eases pressing depth concerns should be scoffed at.

Oh I'm not scoffing at it... I totally understand it.

I just think he's too important to the QB depth chart to move to RB, especially since there are other guys on the roster who could play RB as the emergency 4th or 5th (or even 6th) option, and especially since Brandon is just 4 or 5 more good-throws-per-game from being a really good quarterback.

If he works out his issues and figure out how to throw an accurate slant pattern, ND's long-term success is much better served with Brandon at QB.

WWUD? Urban would tell the kid to hit the RB/WR drills - holding the clipboard doesn't help him make the NFL. Three years on campus and you have the worst P5 passing numbers when you get your chance. You ain't Mike Vick, you ain't Vince Young, you ain't Marcus Mariotta. Who exactly is the person he is using to model his path to NFL QB rockstardom? WTF is the problem with telling a kid to play to their strengths? He got his shot - he missed it. This is not some green frosh and we are not desperate for QB talent.

That isn't to say he isn't wildcatting half a dozen plays per game - win those battles and maybe we expand your playbook - certain opponents that could even be the primary offensive set.

A RB and a running QB are quite a bit different with running at pad levels. I dont see this being an option. Possible FL or some thing that could be used as a potential gimick play maybe but he doesnt run anyway like a RB.

BW better get a good degree because he isnt sniffing an NFL stadium any which way short of buying a ticket
