Any chance here?
He does appear interested, and we're head-and-shoulders above the non-USC competition at this point (Utah, Wazzu, Oregon State). But seems like a tough pull.
Any chance here?
Ha, if the "experts" are correct, and Robinson leaves early...
Wait, does anyone familiar with Notre Dame's program, or with Corey Robinson for that matter, actually think he's going to leave after this season?
I mean, I suppose it's possible, but he's definitely still got room to develop, seems like a "get-that-degree" sort if ever there was one, and has captain written all over him. NFL guys think everyone wants to get to The League at the earliest opportunity, but that's not always the case.
Of course, I think Fuller comes back too. And probably even Jaylon.
I don't think so. I think the "experts" see Robinson's name and have heard the hype about his pass catching skills, and just assume that a guy with his legacy, size and rumored catching ability will be a big-time prospect.
I think he can be very good, but those of us that actually pay attention know that he hasn't done anything worthy of 1st round consideration yet, which is where a few of the way-too-early 2016 draft projections had him. When I first saw those projections, I thought one of them had simply mistaken "Robinson" for "Fuller," and then other projections that followed ran with the same mistaken identity.
But apparently some of the NFL draft guys really did mean Robinson. And I think it's borderline crazy at the moment lol.
As for Fuller and Smith, idk. I think Smith is gone if he stays healthy and doesn't regress at all. He'll be a top-10 pick. He's a great kid, and it wouldn't surprise me if he were to return anyway, but I also think it would be foolish to risk that status.
Fuller could probably use these next two years in the ND weight room, considering the only knock on him is his weight, but I also think teams will end up looking past that when they see how dangerous his speed is this season, and he'll get good enough feedback to leave early if he wants it.
Couldn't agree more. The "experts" have perfected the knee-jerk reaction. LOVE what Corey has brought to this team, but he is no 1st round talent at this stage. To me, it illustrated how crappy those guys really are at their job. They're looking at his impressive stature and dominant performance against FSU, but not considering his shortcomings. Specifically, Robinson will run a bad time at the combine and that alone will probably drop him to the mid-rounds... and on film, he's not exactly getting lots of separation.
Robinson is one of my favorite players for about 100 different reasons, but projecting him as a first rounder based on his current body of work is absurd. Fuller, on the other hand, doesn't get 10% of the respect he deserves.
If Fuller has a Golden Tate type of junior year then he'll leave.
No disrespect to Robinson but he needs to have a HUGE year to be a 1st round pick consideration and even if he does I think he stays with the help of 'The Admiral' guiding him to stay to get his education.
At this point I would take both Alloway & Stovall.
He want sot play Slot/Rb right? I read that is why he decomitted because USC wanted him as a RB solely.
Thats got to be be good. Seems a tad small though.
Seems a tad small and not quite athletic enough to be dominant on the college stage but perhaps we shouldn't be picky at this point?

Thats what I had initially read but apparently USC was actually talking about RB and CB and he definitely wants to play offense. We're recruiting him as solely a RB/slot at this time. It sounds like its either him or Alloway. Staff would take both but probably not at this time, meaning if one committed we'd tell the other one to wait until we get a better handle on numbers. As of now, it seems as though Alloway will be the first to commit as we're expecting an August decision.

When comparing them for the slot, it's Alloway... All the way. (Knickname assigned... Damian AllTheWay)
Stovall probably would be the better APB. But Alloway might be the most Harvin-esque player in this cycle. Both of these guys have been MVP's or "Alpha Dogs" at camps / 7v7's they've attended in SoCal and Vegas against elite recruits. Can't lose either way.
Stack them if you can, but get Alloway if you have to choose.
I think Stovall will end up at UCLA.
I'm surprised there name hasn't been mentioned more. When I initially heard of this that was first thought but there is a lot of chatter that Utah has made quite the impression pitching him immediate "go to back" level of carries.
Per his sister, who is a student of mine, mother wants him at this point to go to ND. (no italics)

Wiltfong saying he has classroom work to do in order to be a take by ND. Any truth to that?

Does this ever work out in ND's favor? Maybe so on signing day but come the following June.... Not so much.
