No one can nuke this thread... just think how lit this place will be when BK losses to La Tech!!!

This thing is just too big man.... Let's say a random thread represents the normal amount of bullshit college football energy on Irish Envy. According to this morning's sample, THIS THREAD would be 35 feet long, weighing approximately 600 pounds.

That's a big Twinkie.

I vote for keeping this up. That way I can regularly come here to remind the internet how much BK sucks. Just like we have FUSC and F$ck Michigan. I've added, #FBK to the mix.

Comparing this thread to a sh!t-filled intestine laid out on the ground is gross, but it's also an apt metaphor, so I'm forced to allow it.

We are better as a program due to BK. He modernized so much and got us to a perennial ten win team, which is what this entire board clamored for before his hiring. He never got us over the hump, and you can lay some blame at the feet of the administration for not doing everything BK wanted, and some at the feet of BK for doing everything he could. I'm really grateful for his work rebuilding the program and where he left us, if not the how. The relationship ran its course from both sides. We are all very familiar with his shortcomings. Some of those will certainly be masked by more resources and eased standards, but not all. I don't think he's going to win a natty at LSU but I thank him for his contributions and wish him well.

Can we get Koon back on here for some takes?! Feeling like the board has been slow lately.

I want BK to get a natty at LSU. Whether that is before or after Notre Dame gets one, I'm largely indifferent beyond the fact I want ND to win every year.

He's the only coach at ND in my Notre Dame fandom who has made ND respectable.

Gross.

Go ahead and give him a blumpkin in his new office/bathroom/lounge ensuite in Baton Rouge while you're at it.

Bravo. Same thoughts. Like many have said, we easily could have become Nebraska without him.

CBK did a lot of good at Notre Dame and FOR Notre Dame. His departure leaves me feeling very confused and betrayed but I don't doubt he did his best while he was here with the tools available.

Unpopular opinion... I hope he gets an SEC title and Natty. I'm extremely pissed at the way he departed ND but also realistic in that I don't know most of the details.

Hey, the HC of ND is a tough gig!

Trying not to get too emotional until we have a new HC named.

Cheers and Go Irish!!

Yeah this is way too mature for this thread.

A little perspective from an outsider: better to be replacing a coach who got an opportunity after going 11-1 than replacing a coach who got fired for going 1-11. You're not a dumpster fire needing a miracle and a complete overhaul. You're not a complete mess coming off a losing season with very little talent on your roster. Trust me, it could be a lot worse. This will all work out fine and a new face on the program may be just what you need to get over the hump.

Do us a favor though...make sure you guys stick it to LSU next year!

I’ll offer some small defense of Kelly at this time. Kelly was not as “For the Brotherhood”, ND family, etc as we thought. Clearly. But if the staff we go into 2022 with has as much promise as we possibly think, he did assemble a kickass staff. And that staff clearly did make the family impact BK preaches, even if he doesn’t practice as much as we thought. The best thing we can hope for is this group of coaches, players, recruits make him regret leaving something he helped build, but he did help build it in the end.
