Fresno State has ZERO commits. Ouch.
Wow, what the hell happened to that program? I remember when Frenso was one of the top non-AQ teams in the country.

And it's not like it's Wyoming or some school in a state with no talent. How the hell can a California school not at least pull in some decent players?

Currently watching him on BTN for media day.

He was asked about scenario if Devin went down, if they felt comfortable with who they have.

Instead of immediately saying yes we feel comfortable with the guys we have he went into this mumble about how they looked over the quarterbacks who graduated with a year of eligibility remaining, they looked at transfer requests, and they looked at junior college kids.

He said they didn't think any of them matched what they were looking for and he then goes on to say that over his 30 odd years of coaching he has had to use his back up qb minimally, to which he FINALLY says that he feels comfortable with who they have behind Devin.

Maybe I haven't listened to him talk enough and he does tangents like this often but it seems odd to me that he wouldn't just go right into how he likes the guys he recruited to be there. Didn't sound like he was very pleased with their depth at qb.

He has no reason to be pleased with their depth chart. They are screwed if Gardner goes down. You hear me Tuitt, Nix, et al? Screwed!

Is the backup Bellomy? Morris has bust written all over him, too.

That is why I am not that scared of Gardner and the scum offense.

1. Gardner is athletic, but I doubt they let him run too much given if he gets hurt, they are screwed.

2. The game is played early in the year and they will not risk Gardner for the Crap 10 schedule.

3. They still have a very underwhelming running game.

With the D we have coming back and the offensive constraints they will have, I think it ND should win.

If this game ever made any sense I would agree with you. But it's ND/Mich, and weird stuff happens.

every damn year, especially the last 4/5. The monsoon game with Weis getting delegged, stupid fvcking Tate Forcier, the under the lights game, and who would have thought last years game went the way it did.

Don't forget Dayne Crist losing his eye sight for a half in 2010... If we didn't have to freakin use Nate Montana we win that game easily.

I wouldn't put too much into his comments. The dude is a mumbling, bumbling baffoon.

That being said, I do think that their season will live or die on Gardner's health. Even if Morris turned out to be a great QB (which I don't believe), he wont be as a freshman. He is a pro style QB and all of the guys I have seen have success early have been Dual Threat. Why? Because they aren't relying on their decision making on reads and throws, but rather not making difficult reads and just running their way out of trouble. Remember Clausen as a freshman? It isn't pretty.

The BK games have been something, that is for sure. But what was the one common theme running throughout those games? Relative youth and inexperience at the QB position. I know Tommy had some games under his belt, but that was a different atmosphere than what he had ever played in. He was only a soph compared to a senior now. He should be a completely different player and I expect him to have a much better game.

IMO, Michigan is the team that is going to need to mix it up, pull some plays out of their grab bag to try to win it.

Michigan is absolutely screwed without Gardner. They'll be leaning on him pretty heavily in the early going with an inexperienced OL and the lack of playmakers at the skill positions.

I had field level seats for that game. Baratti's pick and Tommy's TD were right in front of me. What a game.

The last qb draw I ever expect Kelly to call for Rees. Sneaks are one thing, that play was ballsy.

WHAT!!??!!

I was in the front row and got the same experience.

But now I am saddened. We could have shared the Whiskey I snuck into the stadium and chest bumped when Rees ran in. We could have been on Sportcenter... we could have been contenders.

As others have said, this game never goes as expected. But I don't think they're too worried about their running game. They have Touissant back and that beastly 5-star RB they got last year.

No. F'ing. Way.

I would have shared the beer I hid in my pants!

That sounds magical.

I had two bologna sandwhiches in my pants. I would have shared those too. We really missed the boat here.

Do you remember when scUM was warming up and Will Campbell was walking around with his his jersey tucked under his pads? There was a drunk guy that yelled "Hey Campbell... HEY CAMPBELL..." and when he finally looked over he yelled, "NICE POTBELLY FATASS"?

That was me.

Unfortunately I don't remember that. I didn't make it in the stadium until kickoff. I was sitting with my family and my mother was none too pleased that I had beer and was borderline blackout. The ushers were none too pleased that I kept trying to stand on the brick retaining wall and waving my arms to pump up the crowd.

But that's hilarious. I would have come down and laughed with you at Campbell's expense.

Ha ha, I was directly above you guys (way above...my in-laws aren't high rollers like y'all).

About 10 seconds before the play I told my wife that Baratti was a freshman and "holy crap, wtf is a freshman doing in the game near the goal line with so much pressure and so much riding on the game?!!!!" Seconds later he picks off the pass...not one of my finer moments lol...

You should have come down for a chest bump, part of a bologna sandwich, and a Bud Light.

That is just a flat out lie!

I can just imagine Wooly, at some point in the 2nd quarter, reaching into his pants....and saying, "hey dude, so, you wanna a bologna sandwich?" At which point the women and children scream.

This is how I imagine the reaction:
