I've said it before and I'll say it again, Stanford will get Oregon. OSU might also get them in the Civil War game, but I doubt it. I don't see KSU losing here on out unless Klein doesn't play (concussion) against TCU and TCU gets their sipped righted. Bama just passed their toughest test when LSU let them off the hook.

On Mike & Mike this morning Greenburg defended ND and said we shouldn't have been penalized because we won in OT. He mentioned that while Oregon did put up great offensive numbers they also gave up 51 points and none of the other unbeaten teams have given up anywhere near that many points in a game. He also satated that ND's SOS was 13th while Oregon's was around 50.

For some reason it seems to be fashionable to ignore what a team doesn't on defense and only use their record and offensive output as the criteria for rankings.

Hey! That is crap. Don't you know that if Oregon runs the table.. they will have some quality wins against USC and Stanford! Notre Dame running the table will not have that bragging right. Plus, it's Oregon! Look at those uni's!

On a serious note... Bama has a tough test this week with Johnny Football. Klein may not be 100% against a decent TCU team. Ohh yeah, F Oregon. That sloppy Pitt win will be history when we're talking about "Letdown Saturday".

This, unless you are an SEC team. You can just see it from all the national writers on Twitter who are AP voters. They are so in awe of Oregon's fast offense that they pay no attention to the other details. Nevermind the fact the USC has been absolutely putrid on defense all year and Oregon themselves gave up 615 yards (and 51 points!) to USC. Things like that we held Pitt to 20 YARDS after the 3rd quarter (including OT) go unnoticed.

Does nobody remember when $cam Newton outscored that fast paced Oregon offense? Fairley owning those little duckling lineman? How about when LSU outpaced them? Maybe some of the wise in here do, but the AP voters?

This is why Stanford needs to knock the snot out of them. Closest thing to an SEC defense Oregon will play. Trouble is, Stanford lacks speed on corners. Got to get to that freshman QB.

If only ANY of those games mattered now...

RT @BFeldmanCBS: If Notre Dame played Bama in BCS game, Irish would be a 14-point underdog (up from 13 last week), per @RJinVegas

I'd put everything I own on our Irish covering a 14 point spread vs bama.

You mean just like at Oklahoma? I would take those points and feel really really guilty about it.

Do they give the spread on K State or Oregon versus Bama or do they just belittle ND?

I would also place large sums of money on ND covering 14 points. Chit, 14 may be high for the over let alone the point spread.

Guh. Brad Edwards just called our SOS a myth and he eluded to the fact that a 1 loss 'Bama would be ranked 3rd and ND 4th. Oy vay.

Not so fast - if that one loss is to A&M. Georgia would have to jump Bama if they beat them in the SEC championship. A&M is our best hope for eliminating the SEC from the title game, which would be awesome and really get them bitching about how a playoff would equal an SEC championship this year. Bama has the toughest finish despite two cupcakes to finish the regular season.

TCU does look like the toughest test left for K State. I think they win out though.

Oregon has Stanford and OSU back to back followed by a conference championship against either USC or UCLA. By far their toughest stretch. Next most likely to win out IMO.

I don't like the thought of being bumped by K State and Oregon but it is the most likely scenario IMO.

There is no way a 1 loss team gets in over Notre Dame. PERIOD. Even if you had, conceivably, Alabama #3 and ND #4... Alabama would be WAY behind ND in the computers and ND would be ahead of them in the overall BCS formula.

True dat. I'm pretty sure Brad Edwards even said this on the BCS selection on Sunday.

Would love to see it happen, but it won't. Bama will take care of A&M fairly easily since they are at home. As I said, KSU might if Klein doesn't play and TCU gets it turned around this week. Oregon will roll and the Irish wil kick the Irish snot out of BC.

Fascinating. I got ND/KSU too and now that combo is running away with the vote. Crazy.

Wow that's a really cool poll. I actually came up with ND Bama, but as I clicked submit I thought...Sh!t, I probably should have gone with E, they look more impressive. It was a tie for me...pick D or E, while C was my automatic #1 (honestly wiyhout even knowing it was ND...i thought ND was D or E but wasn't 100% sure)
