Should any of you åttorneys, be it in deposition or court, be tempted to utter "I have one more/one last question" when intending to open a new line of questioning – don't. You may just find a judge who takes you at your word and tells you to sit down (and shut up) before you begin follow up questions. Further deposition testimony could very well be stricken from the record.
I totally agree. Do not give a judge complete discretion to shut you up. You will get shut up.
Oh ... and take to heart the "never ask a question to which you don't know the answer" advice. Asses get bitten.
I mostly agree. But when your ass is getting absolutely and unequivocally kicked and you know you have got a real loser case and you have got a soft witness and after great deliberation and consultation and discussion with your client - take the "Hail Mary" - you have got nothing to lose.
