LOL...I mean there is more here but who has the time or energy to fight with Lax and/or Whiskey? I just wanted to know if I had one of those naughty threads...

For the record, Whiskey's posts sometimes are way above my head, but he is always respectful. One of my favorite posters actually. Lax on the other hand - another of my favorite poster sums him up like this - "privileged". Which I think is an accurate yet a professional way of going about it.

Again, I could really care either way as it doesn't bother me, but as someone whose product has been people his whole life, I get it.

Koon followed a cycle of posting that, in the past on several occasions, has been a tell-tale sign that someone is outright trolling. The fact that he lasted this long without finally going over the edge was an impressive feet in some regards, but was also the most compelling evidence that he WAS trolling most of the time, all things considered.

I was talking to another poster about this recently, and Koon's pattern of trolling basically boils down to:

1. Regular poster, playing nice
2. Suddenly an expert on all things football; humble brag about having inside sources
3. Play the victim when people challenge him on either aspect of step 2
4. Goes into "Tough Guy" mode and calls everyone "Snowflake"
5. Becomes a Hot Take guru where he's "just being real"
6. Targets the mods, not veiled at all, because we've called him on his bullshit
7. Disappear for a bit
8. Repeat steps 1-7

And I want to reiterate, that for someone shouting about how mods try to control the board and snuff out dissenting voices... KOON REPORTED MORE POSTS THAN EVERYONE ELSE COMBINED. He reported posts at like a 400% rate compared to the average user.

He quite literally tried to 'control' the board on the back end with reported posts whenever he was in a debate, outside the realm of open discussion.

Talk about a snowflake.

Of the "regrettable turnover" that may have been linked to heated arguments in the political threads (Cacky, wooly, Buster, NDinLA, etc.), most of them PMed me before leaving and explained that they: (1) were spending too much time on IE; and (2) were about to embark on a major life change (usually a new job); and (3) therefore wanted a permaban to avoid the temptation. None of them said, "hey, the political threads have ruined IE for me, so I'm leaving." If that were actually the case, they wouldn't have requested bans to ensure they stay away. They'd just sour on the community and stop logging in.

But I'm open to changing my mind on this.

I wonder if this is a cart/horse type thing. if their werent political threads that made those guys so different as posters would they have spent that much time here and felt the need to ban themselves to resist temptation?

I think I reported like four or five posts over the years, prob all from the same poster who really got under my skin. Ignored him and then I guess he just left,...

That was a riot, I'm glad we threw that together. After that, I'm definitely open to any board members joining my tailgates in the future. Usually hit a couple of home games and try to get on the road and experience other stadiums.

I was supposed to head to Vegas on Thursday but that was obviously cancelled. Have a flight to *uck with now. Thinking maybe I head out to CA for the first time and get a peak at the Coliseum. Maybe road trip for the Wake game or Pitt. In wait and see mode until this COVID *hit is behind us.

Going to the Irish Invasion of Los Angeles is the thing to do. It's the best away game you'll ever go to. Just get there early with all the other ND fans. There's Blue/Gold/Green everywhere. The SC fans don't show up until happy hour at the sushi bars are over.

I don't even think '400%' was dramatic enough.

It's probably closer to 4000% the amount of posts that other users report. The vast majority of posters here have never and will never report a post.

Koon was like IE's resident Karen, calling the cops like a personal hotline at the most minor inconveniences.

Dang. I’ll miss Koon, honestly. I thought him and I shared a common sense of humor and we both went through some life changing events during same time.

Sure the guy posted some things that were unbearable but those type of posts come from everyone. He did however become more of a troll recently so it isn’t exactly surprising that he’s banned, plus, given the fact that he clearly has been getting on other’s nerves. He did have legit inside sources but thought his Lenzy-Keys ban-bet was WAY off. More posts than Pat in the mod thread? That’s legendary! Best of luck to you, Go Irish!

Loomis is a no-brainer. A troll from the get-go starting 2 years ago. Had cooled the jets over the past 6-months but unsure if that was because he was less active. Did notice him trolling in the Trump thread and then the COVID thread a couple weeks back. I received my only neg rep from him. Cya on Golden Helmet.

Cali is more of a surprise. Hopefully he gets another chance and comes back.

Go to the User CP page. You can see your reps received and given, as well as your reps point total and rep power. Neg reps would be in red instead of green. Neg reps rarely happen as far as I know. I think the bar under your avatar (to the right of your normal posts) will also light up red if you get neg reps, but not sure about the specifics.

There's some rules info in the thread below ("Post your reputation") if interested. Still not 100% on how it all works, but BGIF did a good job explaining the basics.

He wouldn’t have been in the field when Koon won his first “most likely to get banned” award. Before then we lost Bogs, Wooly, Buster, Pat, and Cack. STL, Chiirish, GB, Johnnykillz, Ironman, LA are basically retired.

Brian Kelly is going to outlast all of us at this rate.

I feel this whole reaction is way overblown. We shouldn’t get emotional one way or or another just because some poster is abolished from this site..... we really need to save those reactions for when a 17 year old kid decides he doesn’t plan to play for our favorite team anymore.

But then again I don’t get online enough to build that internet comradery or relationships...... except with my girlfriend (but don’t ask me about her, you wouldn’t know her, she goes to a different website).
