I don't think you're wrong. I think he was Title2012/2014/20??, but that's the problem. It's hard to keep track of fellas who constantly change their username.

There was a way to ban IPs when I was a mod, tho it's been years obviously... I'd assume that's still a thing???

Being an IT guy, I would say you're right. That wouldn't be the type of functionality you would strip out of a program unless it had a hole in the code that would allow a hacker in through the backdoor.

If it's still possible, I haven't been able to figure it out yet. Can search for users by IP address (and vice versa) and I can ban users, but I can't see any way to ban IPs.

It could be slightly helpful, but I honestly don't think banning IP's is worth the painstakingly long process of doing it. Especially when anyone with a brain and/or google can figure out how to get around it.

I'm in general agreement, but in this case, NJNP has created all of his alt troll accounts from the exact same IP. So while he would still be able to bypass it by going to his local public library, making it less convenient for him to continue might be enough to stop it.

Even though you can get around an IP ban, it's certainly more effective than a standard username ban. It's worth the trouble for repeat offenders. While there are ways around it, make him go through the extra effort I say.

The crazy thing is.............. I am not even that far right. I'm Pro-Choice, I don't like Christians or any other religion pushing their agenda on me, and I think everyone should get free healthcare, IF we can afford it. I'm just for these things for other reasons than most liberals. It's not the ideas that I often don't like, it is the logic(or lack thereof) that is used to justify them and/or to tear other ideas down that I usually take exception with.
