Correct me if I'm wrong:

3 months no posting for wizards and Rhode if Seahawks win.
4 months no posting for gkIrish if Patriots win

Rather than do the spread I'll take the extra month off. If anyone has as a problem let it be known.

I still think you don't have to put up an extra anything. All three of us should have the same amount at stake. But whatever floats your boat.

It doesn't make sense to me to get the same penalty considering there are 2 of you and 1 of me so let's just go with this.

It's a sad day when jimmy welches on a naked lap and gkirish has to ban himself because a Michigan man wins another Super Bowl...

GK was trolling the ever-loving-shit out of the patriots and fans, but I don't like this outcome.

I'd love someone to tell me when BK has done that, on the one yard line with the game on the line, with a RB even close to Lynch. Just one time. So many people are so positive that he'd throw the ball in that exact situation, I'd like to know one time he's done that in a similar situation when he had even a guy like Theo Riddick. Because I can tell you PLENTY of times that he has run the ball in that situation.

Now, having his QB in a shotgun? Absolutely. And I HATE that as well. But he's run it out of the shotgun plenty of times. The shotgun isn't even the thing. It's the stupid pass Chetey Petey called.

If you can tell me the time, I will apologize and stand down on this.

The only play call I can think of that's even close is when he called the Chris Brown jet sweep on the 2 against Northwestern and he fumbled. There was so much stupid with that play call... but that doesn't even approach how bad Carroll's was tonight. Carroll's was -- maybe by far -- the single dumbest thing I've ever seen a coach do given the size of the moment coupled with the terribleness of the decision. Especially because the pass play they called is extremely high risk for an interception. He clearly expected Belichick to call a timeout and then they were going to huddle up and put a play in. Belichick "screwed up" not trying to save clock and then Pete mentally imploded.

If you're going to call a pass play there, logic tells you that a run-fake and throw to the back of the endzone or rolling out Wilson is the way to go. That way he has clear lanes of vision and can throw it away from defenders and your risk of interception (sans a Wilson mistake) is extremely low. Calling a pass play in and of itself isn't stupid because then you can go any combination of run-pass on the next two downs. But calling the play they did knowing you have two more downs to live and you're on the 1 is horrendous on so many different levels.

Was it against Pitt when Golson rolled out and hit a diving Riddick in the side of the end zone then followed it up w a roll to the right and a dive into the end zone for the 2 point conversion (2012)?

3-4 minutes left in the game, and the ball was at the 5 yard-line when he threw the pass to Theo.

And then the 2 pt conversion of course is not from the one yard line, and a large majority of teams pass in that situation.

Matter of fact, in that same game, TWICE in OT, Kelly was faced in a similar situation, and both times he ran the ball. One time, Cierre Wood fumbled, and the next time, Golson ran it in.

I have posted this question on here and ISD (where there was a loud minority saying that it was a total BK move), and not one person has been able to find a play. At least you and Lax tried though.

I was making a joke about the "run the damn ball" crowd.

I guess italics is still useful.

I was hoping that - that's why I made my post more general in nature and not directed at you in particular.

As soon as Wilson took his quick drop to throw, I said, "man, I would pay money to see how ND fans would react if Kelly made that play call in a national championship, with the same outcome."

The internet itself would burn.

Thankfully, all the bandwagon Seahawks "fans" are no longer Seahawks fans after yesterday so the Internet went relatively unscathed.
