Well that's just ignorant.

You're about the only person who I think seriously brings up the #FreePat idea. Bambi was talked about a long, long time on this site. Only problem is that a lot of the posters who talked about him are no longer with us as well.

Someone should tell me the story of Bambi, and the significance of the posters that left the site in support of him.

Make it good. I want to feel like I'm sitting by the fire pit, reminiscing on old times.

People don't know how to read The Koon's posts sometimes.

Or maybe we do know exactly how to read his posts? As if my 12 year old niece were saying it. "WHHHHHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY ISN'T PAT IN THE BANNED HOF!!!!!? IT'S JUST NOT FFAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIRRRRRRRRRRRRR!"

Same for Pat...I think that I was brand new when he got banned or maybe it happened a little before I joined.

Could we also add the Pat story so we are all filled in?

Is it not possible to search for someones posts after they get banned? Ik NJNP's crap is still all on the riots thread even though he got the hammer. But i'm coming up empty looking for Pat.

I didn't post much when Bambi was a regular. That guy was fantastic. There will never be a banning that has the same effect on IE as that banning had. Pat's was not even close.

As well as erroneous similes.

Well yes, his example is in fact the complete opposite. IrishPat was more like the Voldermort-controlled Ministry of Magic, whereas reasonable posting principles were like Dumbledore. Pat tried to throw them out the window and get them out of the way, but the Mods showed up and battled the forces of evil, showing everyone that Pat really was evil, and ultimately bringing about his downfall.

Irishpat183. You can search for his name and then find all posts by. The politics thread and Redskins thread were exemplary of his time here.

Wasn't Drue Tranquil's thread actually the culmination of his downfall?

He started making ridiculous recruiting comparisons about a guy we all KNEW was going to decommit, just so he had more ammo prepared for when it happened. He didn't even believe in HIS OWN comparison, which was clear, he just wanted to prepare some ridiculous belief to rail on about later. And that's when his trolling was revealed in the open for all to see.

Lol, just searched that, and I hit this one right off of the bat. Gotta love Pat:

"ARRRRRRR!!!!!!! Matey's!!!

I'm hammered. Love you all. Don't want to get banned.

Played well. Farley is no bueno. Hate to call a guy out, but even the biggest IE kool aid drinker can see that.

Put Irishpat in! Or his son Harrison. I may allow him to take a visit to Stanford just to make you guys sweat."

That was the tipping point for me. Pat never liked our commits; each was slower and more over-rated than the last (which is probably why koonja remembers Pat fondly). But as soon as it became apparent that a particular recruit was going to decommit, suddenly Pat was pumping sunshine about how the kid would be an All-American.

Obvious troll job. Anyone remember which recruit it was?

To be fair, looks like he was right, lol. I remember him for being hilarious. I actually don't remember any of his takes on recruits other than Yeargin.

Richard Yeargin who I also think will be good. Most of our decommits do turn out to be good. Pat wasn't as wrong as everyone wished he'd be.

It wasn't about the accuracy of his opinions, but the ingenuousness of his esteem for Yeargin. He was on record giving Yeargin a big "meh" (which was his MO), but literally right after it became clear that he kid was going to decommit, Pat starts singing the kid's praises (which was very much out of character for him).

In retrospect, his opinion of Yeargin didn't honestly change. He was simply looking to stir the pot.

Is that true, or are you confusing him with IrishLax? I have no idea if it is or not, but you might have it backwards. IrishLax is the one that was excited because of how versatile Yeargin was when he committed, then when he decommitted said something along the lines of it's not a big deal cause he wasn't a need.

I will look at the thread later.

Pat compared Yeargin to Justin Tuck or some such ridiculous comparison, but only after the smoke started coming out that Yeargin was headed to Clemson.

I read these posts and I just laugh now....

When he committed:We got him!! Playmaker! Gonna be so good in this D!! Can't wait!

Visits Clemson: Ehhh...I'd trade him for so-and-so. You could argue that so-and-so is a better prospect on film....etc.

Hilarious. Really.

And this dude is about as close to the total package as it gets. Has frame to really become a dominant one. Could be a Mario Williams type with some weight room work.

Let's not kid ourselves with this guy. He's a big time get

Lol

And Koon, here is a prophetic LAX from the Yeargin thread, on the same topic, before you start in on him:

It's crazy how many times so far in this cycle we've seen a split between parents and children on preference. It burned us the first time (Hood), and is helping us with Morgan. It might help us with Holley... but that can go either way with his uncle being a PSU supporter.

And now you have Yeargin. Seems split with family pressure (and maybe $$$) to go to Clemson. I just do not see us winning out if he makes the visit there. Luckily, we've got enough good CAT prospects. Unluckily, I thought he could be a very versatile and solid piece for a move to a 4-3 if that day came.

Quick scan of that thread, and this is Pat's first comment post-committment:

My memories of Pat were the few times I actually was able to catch the IE Game Day threads. If nothing else, Pat was legendary in his negative posts during the games.

Which is funny, because Title/NJNP was the political yin to Pat's yang but he was the exact same way in the gameday threads.

HaHa yep. All the more reason they need to get the ball rolling on the "Reunion" for those two. I would suggest 24 hours instead of just one hour. No way either could get their points across in sixty minutes.

Pat broke me of the habit of being on the game day threads. I haven't been on one since early 2012. He was brutal on those threads.

Actually I am thankful for that. I find game day much more enjoyable without being on those threads.
