Everyone criticized freeman all game long until 3 minutes left… I’m not backing off just because we won. He and the team need to improve
By “everyone” you mean “you,” right? Seems like most are trying enjoy the win except you and your trollish, nails-on-a-chalkboard commentary about what needs to happen for Freeman to meet your uncompromising expectations. He just beat the best team, one favored to beat ND, on the schedule by double digits. You are insufferable. Do us all a favor and discover a little self-awareness.

Thanks for the invite, I will be back throughout the year. I will be pulling for the Irish.

I have heard from many of our fans that the Irish fans that traveled to the game were great people.

The Irish D was as advertised.

What a defensive battle last night.

The crowd was amazing......but unfortunately the 12th man cannot throw passes or get separation. Elko/Klein have some work to do.
Give Elko time, I think he'll get it sorted. It's just the first game. That defense is absolutely legit, and Weigman should get a little slack for facing our secondary.

That defense will get better just like ours. And if they keep dropping bags he will do ok recruiting the defensive side of the ball. Weigman doesn’t look like a 5 star to me.

Enjoy the win Saturday night back to work Sunday to get better! Isn’t that the mantra?

I complimented freeman and the team a ton, you just get all worked up over any comment that points out imperfections.

I think there are quite a few in-game coaching things to criticize Freeman for…….

Double-checking with his guys on his FG kicker’s distance right before making the final call on FG vs Punt isn’t one of them, imo.

Yeah, maybe Freeman should know the “FG Range” tv line in his head from pregame prep. But it’s wild to die on that hill when there are guys who’s literal job is to continuously confirm that shit with their coaches in-game.

You might call it over-communication, which maybe they learned a bit about after OSU last year.

not to keep beating it but he wasn't checking the range, he didn't know at the time if they were kicking or going for it. It was clear we were in range.

What i'm talking about is he didn't have a clear strategy even with all the timeouts to handle the last 90 seconds once we got the ball back (other than run it). The game wasn't over. If love didn't fight for extra yards both runs after the price loss, we probably punt and A&M gets the ball back with however many seconds (35ish). What if we didn't have a timeout and give him more time to make a decision? The announcers were acting like the game was over, but we all know it wasn't. Everything worked out as it should have. I just think he's still struggling with in game decisions. He went for it on fourth down both times first drive of second half because analytics said to. Analytics is great, but it's not an end all because it's not taking into account everything happening in the game.

Freemans passion before the game I think was huge, we've come out flat so much on the road. He clearly had the team locked in to the game plan, just need to really clean up all the sloppy penalties.

Was not the same level of granular analysis of everything BK. Our win and the Kelly loss = a really tough weekend for a vocal few.

Are you on the team? The only thing you are working on is the board’s collective nerves.
Sensitivity is high on this board… can’t even have discussions without someone wanting to cancel or ban despite it being good accurate content

The use of “Cancelling’ here is about as accurate as when it is used in other contexts. Look, I understand it’s hard for you to see Freeman have a good weekend and Burnt Ends fall on his face again. It sucks when you have an axe to grind and reality doesn’t line up for you. All anyone here is saying is we don’t want to a) listen to you deal with your insecurities and issues and b) don’t want to be trolled by a phony fan c) we don’t need you to TRY to spread your misery. Your game is weak.

I respect those of you who are into self-flagellation. Life has enough obstacles, my message board time is to share my fandom with others who cheer when there is reason to cheer.

When a member puts in enough effort to drive me to the ignore feature, I always feel refreshed when I click that little button and allow them to share their opinions in the vacuous black hole they've created.

Go Irish!

It’s just weird there’s a “former Big10 football player” living on an ND message board.
I didn’t get a committable offer from ND… probably most disappointing, what I considered a failure on my part as a player… I was all in as an nd fan and wanted that offer, so many visits. After the initial disappointment wore off, I had an amazing college experience elsewhere, but never lost my love for ND.

There’s a few other D1 players on this site and rivals message board that played for other teams but are huge nd fans.

Honestly the intel is better on this board despite how soft many on here are. It’s worth it to put up with the people that can’t handle criticism and facts to back it up. In sports, especially at a high level, there’s very little celebration and praise, it’s constantly evaluating weaknesses and working to get better. I still have that mindset evaluating nd coaches and players. Conversations around what needs improved are more enjoyable than talking about how awesome it was Jeter went 3 for 3. There’s not much to talk about there other than he’s good. Maybe really good

I don’t come to the “internet” to make friends, find love, and to build my confidence like you and 41. Don’t worry, meta isn’t far from having an alternative life for you to live

Time to grow up and move on kiddo. You didn't make it at the D1 level anything significant. Now you have to join the rest of us randos in this beautiful thing called life. Instead of dwelling on the past and how you attempt to have it validate your everyday, try looking to the future and achieving something new. It'll be healthier for you, your friends, and your family. Stay blessed fam.

I think plenty can handle criticism and debate, but the consistent force feeding of the same opinion gets tiring. We get it...you don't think MF has a clue how to handle in game decisions. We get it...in fact, we got it like 15-20 post about the same thing ago.

It’s amazing how people view message boards as their “everyday” or their “life” or impacts their mental well being, etc etc. like message boards impact my family or some dumb crap. Man, this is a dang football message board, not a shrink session.

Sorry, but my wife and kids aren’t going to hear about reallynch or 41 or whatever other poster live their life through a message board. It’s actually pretty comical how serious people read into posts. You have people on here calling others names and telling them to fist themselves…i feel bad for them and you. Don’t be worried about someone that thinks freeman needs to learn how to make in game decisions better. That’s not an atypical conversation in person with football people discussing nd.

Beating SEC teams never gets old. Some of my closest buddies are Tennessee Vols fans, and I feel like they get awfully quiet every time ND beats an SEC team :ROFLMAO:

A&M is a 1pt favorite over #9 Mizzou this coming weekend. Massive game for our resume, Although I think Mizzou is more likely the number ~15 team than top 10.

Need a win this weekend. There's a really decent chance they are a 9-3 or 10-2 football team since they avoid UGA, Alabama, Tennessee and Ole Miss.
