I re-watched last year's game yesterday. What stood out? How bad DJ Brown and Liafau were. Announcers hammering absence of Bertrand and how it hindered our game plan on defense.
My eyes will be on Al Golden's defense Saturday. There's really no excuse for not having a good game plan vs Navy's option, we've seen it a million times now. If you can find the ball and make tackles in the open field they won't succeed, its that simple. Turn them into a passing team, they lose. Liafau and Brown were constantly out of position or faked out. Golden has the personnel to stop this offense if he doesn't put them on the field he's the guilty party.

I'm not too worried about the offense. We burned them repeatedly in the first half. Pyne looked great. Desperation set in and the middies threw everything into the pass rush. We were unable to execute a short passing game to negate that. Hartman will correct that problem. I've been watching ND vs Navy for about four decades. They've never had DB's that can cover. Its all zone and tackle, and hope the other team is dumb enough to run the ball into an eight man front.

Historically very well

If we have to play navy every year week 0 is best week

Never forget last year when Du Lac, who claimed he was at the game, was rapid fire posting racially charged insults about Freeman during Marshall.

I don't think we will have anything of that level until at least NC State.

I don't know bud, it doesn't take much to spark someone. Add in alcohol and high expectations...... and you never know what you will get from some.

I'm almost giddy thinking about it.

anybody else worried about NDs defense getting gashed by navys passing game? im worried that NDs defense will be so keyed in on the triple option allowing navys wrs to get behind NDs defenders.

It's a good thing NC doesn't legalize sports betting until 2024. I would be betting way too much on the +190 over 9.5 wins and Hartman over 2900 season passing yards.
