There is zero question in my mind if both UGA and Bama are undefeated when they meet in CCG they both get in no matter who loses.

As long as it is close and looks close...I agree.

If Bama blows Georgia out, then I think that opens up other scenarios. Georgia could win by a pretty crazy number, and it wouldn't change anything.

all this seems odd by the numbers, but feels Correct. I say it is odd because Georgia's big non-conf win is ND...Bama's is FSU. Assuming their conference schedules are pretty similar in terms of difficulty....Comparing the two, You'd think Bama would need to win or lose real close...but Bama is Bama, and they look like the Bad Ass this year, so seems right even if contrary to the wisdom of the numbers.

This is why I'm glad these polls don't really matter and don't play any part in the playoffs. Poll inertia is awful. Every week every team should be reevaluated but that isn't how it works. It is a miracle the coaches jumped us 6 spots. I don't really care though. In my heart I know we're the best 1 loss team in the country right now (doesn't mean we will make the playoffs or even win out) and I feel completely confident we're better than TCU and Wisconsin and we get our chance to settle it on the field with Miami.

If Clemson curb stomps Miami in Charlotte a couple of weeks after ND wins a close battle over the Canes in Miami, that's a tough call cuz Clemson has quality SOS.

PSU

If the goal is to get the 4 best teams in the playoffs (regardless of stupid things like ummm your record + how & where you win & lose), these are the 5 that stand out.

Hopefully PSU gives OSU a 2nd loss or OSU hands PSU an eliminating blow out L.

Honestly the BCS was better. The computers balanced out a lot of the bullshit bias. People act like the CFP committee is somehow perfect but they're subject to the same BS as the AP voters.

"Recent success" is 100% irrelevant. These are the 2017 rankings, not the "2017 and other recent years" rankings. 2017 Notre Dame has done / won / proven more than 2017 Clemson et al.

It's simply because we started so far behind them at beginning of season. It will be interesting to see first BCS rankings. SOS will be more in play. Provided we win next week of course.
