Good call.

That is next on my list. I already have for my children, Goodnight Darth Vader (which I strongly recommend) and Darth Vader and Son.

So, there's a petition to have the director for Episode IX replaced. Who will replace him you ask? George Lucas they say.

So apparently the list of possible actors to play young Han Solo has been cut down to 8.

CYdbc5bWwAIgQCN.jpg

In order....

Line 1: Harrison Ford, Ansel Elgort, Dave Franco
Line 2: Emory Cohen, Jack Reynor, Logan Lerman
Line 3: Miles Teller, Scott Eastwood, Blake Jenner

Maybe i'm just being sceptical but I really don't see the need for this film. Is anyone begging for a Han anthology? Plus some of these options are just straight up terrible. I like Miles Teller a lot but he would not make a good Han Solo. Dave Franco??

Scott Eastwood needs to save himself so he can be Roland Deschain in the Dark Tower movies/TV shows.

I love Dave Franco. Maybe one of my favorite comedy actors right now. But he ain't Han Solo. Miles Teller is even worse. I'd rather see Franco lol.

From that list, Ansel Elgort looks to me like he could pull of the Solo look better than the others, but those are also headshots that have nothing to do with character testing, so it's hard to judge.

Also, hell no we don't need a Han Solo film. I fear that any film, no matter how well done, will spoil the mysterious and shady past that makes Solo so entertaining.

Yeah, I couldn't see Dave Franco doing the part justice. Maybe his brother James, but he's older than the target age bracket they're going with.

Now that I'm looking at more pictures, I think Franco could pull off the Solo look no problem.

Getting rid of his accent, his mole, and modifying his unique goofiness to be more Solo-esque? I could mayyyybeee buy it, if he could do these things without losing everything that makes him an actor.

But I also don't know much about the other guys on that list.

I really like how Disney has handled everything it's touched so far (The Clone Wars series, The Force Awakens) but I'm still not convinced that they're not going to kill the brand over the long run.

No joke, I'd probably break his window.

Han dying by Kylo was spoiled for me by some f'ing piece of sh*t on a Facebook article.

The day that d*ckbag who bought and jacked up the price of that HIV drug was arrested, I was reading the comments to the article on Facebook, mostly to see if there was anyone who was going to take his side.

Scrolling down, someone had embedded a screenshot of Han with a lightsaber coming out of his back and the text "Han Solo dies by his son Kylo Ren".

It was over that fast, I couldn't unsee it. At that moment, my inner monologue channeled Liam Neeson and quoted Taken. "I don't know who you are, but I will find you and I will kill you."

***Spoiler, maybe****

I read in an article the other day that in a new Star Wars video game, there is dialogue between Ren and Rey where he says something along the lines of, "Face me cousin!"
Pretty clear that she is Luke's daughter unless Han had a sibling we didn't know of.

That's been debunked. He says "Face me," then gets hit and says "curses." It happens quickly and sounds like cousin.

Happens at 20:32.

Doesn't matter, she's still Luke's kid, 99% sure.

Read an interesting theory that she could be both Luke's child AND Obi-Wan's grandchild, which is why she is particularly strong with the Force.

I think that would be a lot cooler than her being related to just one of them.

So you are saying that Luke force poked Obiwans daughter.. Interesting.

I think the accent is important- she talks like a well-educated Londoner. She would obviously be raised with resources if she were Luke's, but Leah's son still talked like an American.

In the universe, the accent isn't necessarily indicative of class, but where in the galaxy you're raised. Jakku is in the Outer Rim, meaning the residents there would have an American accent. The fact that she speaks as she does means she's probably from one of the Core worlds, possibly Coruscant.

IF Rey and Kylo Ren are siblings (though I don't think they are), the different accents could be explained by the amount of time they spent away from their family. If Kylo went to train with Luke at a young age while Rey stayed behind on the planets where Leia was playing politics, they could have developed different speech patterns.

Rey was left of the planet as a little kid, and Luke probably trained Kylo near Han and Leia

Leah tried to talk like that when she was being formal in ANH, but Carrie Fisher couldn't pull it off.

But I think we obviously agree with me that the speach patterns are important in the story telling sense. The point is, rey was raised in a sophisticated part of the galaxy.

So why does't Kylo talk like that if they had the same parrents? If anything, I got the impression that Kylo was sent to train too late, and would have been in the Core--or wherever Hand and Leah were--until he was at least Rey's age when she was abandoned/hidden (10ish). So they would have had the same amount of time in that setting if they were siblings--which I don't think they are either. Maybe he hung with Han and Rey stuck with Leah?

But I think that there was a clear lack of connection between Han and Rey and Leah and Rey for her to their daughter, if they had any idea they had one. Mabe she was stolen at birth by the doctor who covered up the twins? Leah would have sensed it, though.

I also got the impression that Rey actually did train with Luke--from the force vision.

I think she was traumatized or brain washed after the slaughter of the rest of the Jedi paduins at Luke's school, and dropped off to keep her from Snoke.

Warner Bros. Shifts 'Ready Player One' Away from 'Star Wars: Episode VIII'
by Brad Brevet

February 9, 2016

Warner Bros. has adjusted their release schedule following Disney's decision a few weeks ago to move Star Wars: Episode VIII from May 26, 2017 to December 15, 2017. The move put the next episode in the Star Wars saga directly opposite Steven Spielberg's adaptation of Ernest Cline's Ready Player One, which left WB no choice but to search for a new date. As it turns out, they decided March 2018 would pretty much be all theirs.

Ready Player One is now set for a March 30, 2018 release date where it will currently face off against one of Universal's upcoming Monster Universe films, believed to be the new incarnation of The Wolf Man.

The studio previously had what they're referring to as an Untitled DC Film (though largely believed to be The Flash) set for a March 23 release, but with the decision to move Ready Player One into the same month they've moved The Flash forward to March 16, 2018. This gives the studio two weeks of breathing room, but their March 2018 slate doesn't end there.
