Haha pretty much. The driod ones are hard to stomach too. There's that two episode arc in what must be like season 5 that's all droids and a tiny alien general. Woof. I remember one was called a sunny day in the void or something. I almost didn't make it through those ones.

Yup, skipped the droid stuff. I'm like "this ain't Westworld, these are not the droids I'm looking for."

I’d recommend watching all of them except the JarJar episodes. There is a ton of good world building in both Clone Wars and Rebels you will miss out on if you skip too much.

There are a couple of weird filler arcs here and there that don’t add much and are out of place but overall the do add to the overall world building.

I'm okay with the cliff notes for any of the other world stuff. Who was the super nerd in here, was it Wizards? Yeah, that ain't me. I'm okay with just keeping on with the OG Star Wars stuff. I don't need to go into the books or anything. I'm just a simple man making my way through the SW universe.

I think this is an impressive analysis of how Filoni verse takes care of being able to retcon the sequel trilogy.

Don't forget to put some respect on Favreau's name! He's the reason the MCU started off hot and Star Wars is currently trying to be saved through Mandalorian after all.

Didn’t mean to leave him off it’s just Ashoka and Ezra are Filoni (I think). Having Ashoka be the bridge between Anakin and Luke is pretty cool.

It also kinda calls back to Yoda’s warning about the fluidity of the future. Anyway I think it’s pretty neat theory.

I gotcha. Just noticed how they were talking about the Mandalorian possibly retconning the new trilogy and everything, and Favreau had a big hand in that as the show runner and writer. Seemed like they were giving all the credit to Filoni. Favreau did mention Filoni's extensive history and connection helping him along the way though. I just happened to see this pop up in my Facebook feed:

I LOVE anime but ....sicne when is Star Wars like this? Im honestly confused on how to feel about it in real time. Looks great but it just doesnt seem like a fit to me.

It's just more content for Disney+.

They gave 7 different studios a shot to make their own little Star Wars vignette.

At this point anything done different in Star Wars is good IMO. Whole franchise is so stale at this point.

Obi-Wan Kenobi…

Decent limited series? Average limited series with some really good moments? Below-average limited series with enough fan service to get by? Really good series that just needs some time to stew?

Just finished it, not totally sure what to think. The finale was good, and all kinds of heart warming, with some badass moments sprinkled in.

Obi-Wan’s motivation was clear… not to end Vader, but to find out whether there was any Anakin left for him to try and reach.

Vader’s motivations and the way he left things were more unclear… did his loss to Obi-Wan, and Obi-Wan’s mercy, plant the seeds of his future betrayal of the emperor and act of love for Luke? It seemed like they were going for a “Vader lost to Obi-Wan, and now he’s kind of scared, kind of realizes he might not be able to bring himself to Kill Obi-Wan anyway, and has no desire to hunt him down again, regardless of what he tells the emperor.”

Obi-Wan made peace with everything, and seemed to have no fear of Vader searching him out on Tatooine… does that make any sense? Only if he knows his defeat of Vader, and subsequent act of mercy was enough to drive Vader away totally.

How does Reva get pigeon-holed into the rest of the new Star Wars universe? Or are we to believe she’s simply a normal person, living at peace now?

Lastly, a series on Leia making political moves while helping found the rebellion in the background sounds more entertaining now than it would have a year ago. I wonder if they have anything like that in the works.

Empire Strikes Back and Rogue One are my favorite Star Wars films.

I did not particularly care for Episodes I, II, III. Revenge of the Sith was, for me, easily the best of the three.

I liked the newest Trilogy, but part of me was pretty pissed that after defeating the Fascists in Return of the Jedi, the Fascists were back and better than ever destroying planets a generation later. Nothing had really changed.

Solo was okay. I didn't think it sucked as much as other people did.

I was kinda meh on it for the first few episodes, but it really kicks into gear around eps 4/5/6.

Found out the people that made Chernobyl for HBO are behind this. Makes a lot of sense. The writing is leagues above any other Star Wars content in ages.

Even if the visuals weren’t epic (which they are) this show would still be really engaging. Characters are good. Their motivations are understandable. And I love how they actually made the empire intimidating instead of bumbling incompetent idiots.
