All it takes to get a drivers license is the national spotlight and your head coach holding your hand the whole way.

OK sooooooo on the surface this seems really bad and like they're all done for.

However, 16 accusations over 11 years isn't that insane and I'd like to know more about the nature of the accusations before passing judgment. Is this a Baylor style thing? Or were most of the accusations things like "he slapped me on the butt while drunk and laughed about it."? Were they investigated? Reported to the cops? Were any of the 16 false? Because we know for the most recent incident they kicked people involved out of school.

Did OTL already get into all of that?

Weren't like 4 of them just last off season for them? The kid from Fort Wayne in one and three players on one girl in another incident (like some of their biggest recruits).

I would give up almost anything!

Out of sweet justice, would you rather this be Michigan or Texas A&M? My vote is Michigan, but Texas A&M is very tempting.

UM has had its problems too (Taylor Lewan and friends), the NCAA didn't care

Sparty is going to have enough problems with Nassar, let alone this crap that's percolating.

Didn’t read the whole thing - it’s a huge investigation into both football and basketball programs at MSU - but it’s a pretty tough and detailed story. Made a lot of hay about Dantonio’s comments last year about how they’d never had sex assault incidents before that stuff. Asks how he couldn’t have known about all these others.

In that climate there right now, with his AD gone, wouldn’t be surprised if DAntonio is next. Stewart Mandel seems to think he’ll be toast, fwiw.

The full OTL piece is linked in there.

I was wondering when MSU was going to get heat for this. Think I might have posted this before, maybe on the PSU thread, but this in my opinion is much worse than the Sandusky situation.

When the Institution knows there is a problem yet continues to feed the predator with victims the Institution should be just as much at fault. It is sickening.

The saying is "Fuck Michigan".

Are you really trying to bring aTm in this discussion?

I’m watching the OTL thing on ESPN and this is pretty fucked up. A lot of it is really, really bad. A lot of it is sorta unverifiable conjecture and kind of sketchy... but other stuff makes you go “wow”.

I don’t see how it’s worse than the Sandusky situation. I think they’re pretty equal in terms of how f’ing disgusting they are. Maybe you’re referring to how many people are involved in the cover up and how many just turned a blind eye. I might agree with you there.

I'm going to wait until the state AG has completed his investigation. There's a lot that sounds pretty awful, but I don't trust ESPN as a journalistic organization. It's more a loose confederation of agenda-driven no-talent hypeclowns. You get clicks for extremity, not accuracy.

When the proper authorities who don't stand to profit from the victims' stories of suffering have drawn a conclusion on the extent and depth of this, I will listen.

I agree, both situations are on the same level in terms of being disgusting. But MSU literally spoon fed this predator which makes it worse, IMO, from an institution standpoint. Sparty knew there was a problem, but continued to provide the predator with victims - that is where I think the difference is.
