It seems to me like some coaches handle it better than others, and I'm sure longevity comes into play. Freeman seems like an absolute road warrior, the hardest working coach I can remember, but you have to wonder how long anyone can keep up that grind. I can only imagine the stress it puts on these coaches' wives and families. I'm sure at some point most wear down a bit and start delegating.
It helps that he seems genuinely interested in ND's mission and helping develop young players, both on and off the field. Nothing he has said over the past year has seemed like coach speak, his enthusiasm seems 100% genuine.
