How many coaches do they have? It seems they just keep adding. Is there a limit or are they currently talking to the coaches of the top rated players for '17, '18, & '19 right now for employment possibilities

they have some open positions on the administration staff, NCAA doesn't limit how many positions you can have there, they only limit how many actual coaches you can have. Maryland hired Matt Barnes, who was a defensive analyst to be their LB's coach, and Michigan promoted Chris Patridge to LB coach.

They had two open positions on that administrative staff, filled one, they have one left to fill.

Bush Sr. would be a great hire, he played safety at the highest level where he was an All-American and 1st round pick at Florida State and won a Super Bowl in the NFL with the Rams. He'd probably be next in line to be a DB coach if Zordich or Jackson leave for the NFL in the next couple of years.

From what I can tell, basketball teams are allowed to go somewhere outside of the United States once every 4 years.

So, at a minimum, it seems like Harbaugh should be allowed to do spring break in Florida once every 4 years. Obviously Florida is inside the United States, so who knows what the rule should be.

Harbaugh taking subliminal twitter shots at the SEC. I love it.

Tom,
I, for one, really don't care about Harbaugh's Twittering away.

Harbaugh has no chill, what is wrong with other schools holding practices in their (in this case sec) territory, also when was the last time an SEC team went north to play a b1g team in their yard (not neutral site) because i believe that there should be a rule that if the sec has to play a B1G team outside of bowl season the scheduling rule is that the sec team has to go up north to the team no neutral site brouhaha

While it's mildly amusing that the SEC has their panties in a bunch over the Harbaugh stuff, the entertainment value is dampened because fuck Michigan.

Wisconsin is playing LSU at Lambeau this year which is technically a neutral site but still will give wisco the advantage. Should be an awesome game

Would be funny, except for the fact that Harbaugh is a whiny baby on the field. A lot.

I lol'd at the kiddies trying to sound tough and threatening whoever did it.

Also, hilarious. Couldn't have happened to any other school more deserving

3 star WR Jerimiah Holloman decommits from Michigan.

2017 WR decommits from Michigan

After taking a lot of blowback from the media and CFB fans alike, Jim Harbaugh has decided not to wait until the last minute to force out unwanted commits in the 2017 class

Observations on Michigan Football Recruiting 2015 (for Class of 2016)

Fair, comprehensive and long though he does feel like the only decommits that were due to Harbaugh withdrawing scholarships were Swenson and Weaver. Non-commitable offers, etc.

Harbaugh offered over 250 prospects and 30 PWOs.

..most Michigan fans support anything he does because he's brought them a winner after a long Big Ten Title drought. Both President Mark Schlissel and Athletic Director Jim Hackett have chosen to take a "hands off" approach to supervising Harbaugh; in fact, Schlissel defended Harbaugh's approach. Harbaugh believes his responsibilities include bending and manipulating NCAA rules as it is ethical
This is the first year Michigan has ever been involved in oversigning.

Why condone doing something wrong? Especially because they are just good at doing it?

What's he doing that's illegal? Pretty much every school besides ND that's good enough to find better players pulls scholarships. It's an NCAA issue, not a Harboner issue. He's not breaking any rules. I also appreciate his creativity and all around grind. The guy is a warrior.

See, I didn't say illegal. I said wrong. Apparently we have lost the distinction. But I believe there is a lot that is really wrong, but not illegal.

A lot of religious know the difference; some practice it.

So it is wrong to string anyone along, even though it isn't illegal.

It is wrong to bend the rules, unless they are bad rules. See peaceful civil disobedience.

And just to take the next logical step; how do you know he isn't breaking the rules?

You gonna take the word of someone who delights at bending them?

Guys like Harbaugh are 'great warriors,' until they shit all over your parade. Just sayin'.

I respect the photos in the article. Was this at a satellite camp for educational purposes?

Isn't ND technically oversigned right now until 5th years/transfers get figured out?

I don't mean this as an insult, and wont be responding after this, but I honestly don't get why you like Notre Dame. I mean... some of the patterns of thought you continually express don't really seem to jive with the culture of the program or University. It's bizarre to say the least.

For instance... who would expect a die hard Irish fan to ever state "I really like how the coach over at Michigan bends the rules"?

I know... I know... you have an Irish tattoo and nobody can question your fandom... I'll see myself out...

This is an eye of the beholder point. Some say nobody oversigns because everyone is at 85 by fall. The other side is everyone whose totals are over eighty-five after NSD is oversigned.

Personally, I take the scholarship totals after NSD accounting for attrition up to that time, note the redshirt seniors not on the two deep and post both totals.

That works out three tiers:
Tier 1 -- those still over eighty-five after that subtracting
Tier 2 -- those like Michigan and ND who are at or below 85 after subtracting
Tier 3 -- those who are at or under eighty-five including those RS Seniors

Oversigning Link Post 820.

Harbaugh coaches ND now? Why didn't someone update the Quick Hits thread!

There's no bending the rules. You're either within the rules or you're breaking them. He's doing what 99% of schools do or wish they could do (if they could get better players than the ones committed). Some people just hate him because he's awesome, he's exciting, he's going to steal some of our recruits, and he's Michigan. Now should the NCAA do something to prevent this from happening? Totally different story. Don't hate the player, hate the game.
